Name one thing that you like about the "New" Board".

With all the bickering back & forth, including me, maybe we could list one thing that we like. I am asking you to please read all the post & not to double post what someone else has said. I want to also do a "Don't like" topic. Then maybe Patrice can simply go through and help us all out without being so overwelmed. If you think we have headaches, can you image what she must be going through. So lets see if we can be a fun friendly board again. I don't want anyone to leave. :( Thanks, Becky.

I just seen the new board and really dont like it I could always go to the pics and look and now I am so lost cant even imagine on how to get started on this one

clcoats 11-04-2011 07:23 AM

Hovering over the icon to get an idea about what a posting is about.

cinnya 11-04-2011 07:25 AM

I like the thread preview and the --go to first unread post--and the album.............I still have to figure out how to make my pics smaller in my album.I clicked on my picture and scared myself because of how big they are lol

Kim Bohannon 11-04-2011 07:27 AM

I love having my own blog, and albums! albums makes sharing my pictures with others in chat so much easier!

I just listed a new post for things we don't like so please put your post there. This board is confusing. Thanks so much, Becky.

waddley 11-04-2011 07:30 AM

Clicking on the button beside the topic and it taking me straight to the first unread post so I don't have to muddle through all the posts that I have already read. Being able to hover over a topic to see what its about before I open it.

pastimesquiltdesign 11-04-2011 07:34 AM

The blog
The albums
oops that's two. I'm sure I'll come up with more as I get to know it better. It takes time to learn new things.
I reccommend reading the book "Who Moved My Cheese" New cheese is good.

tenngal 11-04-2011 07:36 AM

I really can't find anything to like. It takes too long to read and I just don't have the time to muddle through it.

NANAOF2BOYS 11-04-2011 07:37 AM

all i can say is it is different and will take awhile to get used to the new format

Ditto, really like this feature.

I Like Everything!

Tartan 11-04-2011 08:15 AM

The same wonderful people are here. They are all trying to help us computer challenged folks. (If someone already mentioned this I'm sorry but the second page of comments won't load for me today) I struggle with dial-up.

Ditto!! I like it too. I would be interested in knowing how some are changing the font and color of their posts. :)

I LOVE the View First Unread feature. The more I play and try things, the easier it gets...

This is a feature that I like....and as soon as I figure out how to do it I shall like it even more!

joyce blint 11-04-2011 08:33 AM

I can't find a darn thing, so I give up and move on to other things that need done around the house.

misseva 11-04-2011 08:34 AM

The MOBIL app at the bottom of the screen. When you change to that it's almost like the old board.

joyce blint 11-04-2011 08:34 AM

And where is this??

janedee 11-04-2011 08:38 AM

I like all the bits I've discovered so far finding it easy to get around with the headings being much clearer in what is inside them but I still can't find the smileys!!!!!

joyce888 11-04-2011 08:40 AM

I can name one thing in one word - NOTHING!

ghostrider 11-04-2011 08:47 AM

What I like best is that you can set the time to your own time zone and it's a 12 hour clock. I no longer have to subtract three hours from military time to know when something was posted. http://www.freesmileys.org/smileys/s...aughing002.gif

gollytwo 11-04-2011 08:51 AM

Hovering over the little envelope not only tells me what the thread is about - it tells me if I've already posted a reply - I LOVE THESE FEATURES

mimom 11-04-2011 08:55 AM

I like the thift shop and how its divided into sections for ISO and for sale.

In the "Quick Reply" box at the bottom, you'll see a string of icons (such as Bold, Italics, Underline, font, size, etc.) You will see a yellow smiley face. It you click on that, a drop down box appears with other face choices.

To change Font size, color, and shape:
If I remember correctly...
If your web browser allows you to use this feature:
1. Click on settings
2. Click on General Settings
3. At the bottom of the page Select Enhanced Interface
4. Click on Save at the bottom of the page;)

thrums 11-04-2011 09:46 AM

Cleaning up the Inbox/Sent mail was so easy. I was able to store messages I want to keep for a while in a new folder while deleting the rest. :0)

dltaylor 11-04-2011 09:47 AM

I am with you on that one...I feel like a little child on the first day of school...LOL

I view the board from my phone more than anything. The mobile version is just that...designed for mobile use...and navigation is pretty good.

We are all busy and want to get to our destination "right now". I'm with ya'll on that! But...as I take time to poke around, I am finding some pretty neat things that allow for a more "customozed" end user experience.

Play around. Lot's of great people here and, "This too shall pass."

Have a great weekend.

kountrykreation 11-04-2011 09:54 AM

I really like the fact that the great folks (Patrice) are making the board better!!! Still all great folks, great topics, great pics, and what more could anyone ask. Change is good, it just takes a little time to get re acquainted with.

moreland 11-04-2011 09:59 AM

I like the Archive button at the bottom of the home page. Is quick and easy to see list of topics and because the color changes, I can tell which I've read. (Obviously, I liked that feature in the old format. ) Still getting acquainted with the new. I also like the general looks of the home page.

Sewhappytoquilt 11-04-2011 10:00 AM

I just changed the color and size by replying in the "Quick Reply" box at the bottom of the page. Doesn't everyone have that box with all the icons listed? I don't remember doing anything different for that to appear.

LadyElisabeth 11-04-2011 10:01 AM

Well, I am still trying to figure this out, and am still confused. We can still reply! I like that.

Jeanniejo 11-04-2011 10:02 AM

I don't really have an opinion yet. I need to take more time to actually see what's here. I know it's hard for some of us to except change but I'm willing to give it a try. Who knows, once we feel more comfortable with it we will appreciate all the work the board did to make this happen. I think we have to keep an open mind before making any rash decisions.

The only time I see icons such as bold, italics, font, etc is if I click on BB Codes. It shows me how to set it up, for example "[fodnt=courier]this text is in the courier font[/fodnt]", but doesn't give me the option of which font to use. What if I don't know what the fonts look like? Do I have a setting turned off, that allows me to make these changes?

Latrinka 11-04-2011 10:13 AM

I like that I'm a SuperMember! And that now maybe I'll spend more time actually sewing!

MommaDorian 11-04-2011 10:15 AM

I figured it out!!!! I had my "message editor interface" set at basic editor. I changed it to standard editor and it gives me all the change options along with smilies!!!

Thanks for the pointers!!!

QandE2010 11-04-2011 10:18 AM

I like the fact that we live in America and have a choice to either come to the board and make it a good experience or, if one doesn't like it, they can choose not to come. If we lived in a communist country we wouldn't be free to voice our opinions and we'd have to do what the "leaders" told us to do. God Bless America. AND this board and the people that have worked so hard to make this better for us. Thanks to them and all of you positive people on the board.

Cheri_J 11-04-2011 10:59 AM

I like the font that "Quilting Board" is written in.
