Have fun. Before retiring I was a truck driver cross country and always had a little project to work on. Hard to go cold turkey..Better hide a stash in case!!

I just returned from a week-long trip in our RV. We went down to Crater Lake and then visited our son who is going to school in Klamath Falls (OIT). Then after exploring the area, we went to Sisters for the quilt show. I too decided to do it sans sewing machine. If I were going for two weeks, I would have taken it with me. I have some projects set aside for RV trips--table runners and wall-hangings. I managed to get through the week okay, but only because we visited FIVE quilt shops and also attended the quilt show.

As for the quilt show, it was my first time. I enjoyed it very much, but I was a little disappointed that there weren't more art quilts. The quilts were beautiful, and most were traditional patchwork. I took pictures of some of the tags so that I could find books/patterns for some of them. We were there at high noon and the sun wasn't very good for pictures. Most are pretty washed out looking. But I do like documenting the information on the tags with my camera. It makes life much easier.

Good luck on your quilt rehab trip. I know I couldn't do it. A week was pretty much my limit, and I headed directly to the sewing room when we got back.

Have a great vacation!

Are you SURE you don't want to take just a little fabric to cut up? After you are done reading for the day, you can relax with some HST's. I don't know if I could leave the house without SOMETHING. You are very brave.

I love those books! I usually have to choose between quilting or reading and I'm obsessed with whichever I choose. I can't do both! I've learned not to even pick up one or the other if in the middle of them! :)

Well I am giving in and have decided to take a project. I've been wanting to try the fabric baskets. I have two 100' close lines and I'll cut my strips and I'll just wrap close line till I drop. Thanks ladies and gents for all your comments.

I am heading out to the country soon... debating on whether to take my fabric and machine with me to sew. My girlfriend is also a quilter but I don't know if we will have time as we hope to be canning green beans and I mean lots of them. I will talk with her by Wednesday and we will decide what
WE want to do.

Sounds like a fun vacation to me! I have read all but her last book and I loved them! I would take quilting books and magazines with me...never can tell what great fabric buys you may find! Have fun on your vacation!

Don't take ANYTHING related to sewing. If you want to sew, get new! There's always a fabric shop somewhere.

No, I'd have to tuck a small sewing machine somewhere and a project or two. Okay, for two weeks at least five.

There is NO way I could do that, or even WANT to do that! We like to go camping, bluegrassing, and just travel. But I want to have my quilting with me. I do read some when we travel, but I want to have my quilting, just in case.
