Although I love every part of the quilting process, sometimes I have to stop and make necessay things.
I made these 6 bras over the week end. They range in cost from $10 - $14 and usually last me about 3 years. And they fit perfectly. |
Nice!
WOW those all look store bought... that is great when they fit perfectly.
Those are quite nice. Can't tell that they are homemade. What kind of fabric do you use? Do you make them to sell? I think you could make a little extra on the side if you did. :)
I have one that looks like a twin to that white one. What a fantastic job!
They're beautiful. How wonderful to be able to make them - you are very talented.
Wow--I'm impressed! Wish I had the talent to make some for myself. It's so hard to find styles that fit properly and then the fabrics are so limited...

I buy prepackage kits that are either tricot or cotton knit. I taught the class one time, and one time only although I had other requests. You really need to have strong sewing skills to make them. |
Those are very nice. I can't imagine the work that goes into them. I have never heard of classes to make them.
i will take 2!!!!
Very nice

Nice - where do you get the kits?
Wow those look just like the store brand, probably better.
Wow that is a great skill to have. I wished I knew how to make them.

Those are so nice.....underwire? I realize they can be a challenge to make, but this is one challenge I need to take up! Any advice? I have a purchased bra that fits nicely but of course they don't make them anymore, don't really want to cut it apart either. Did you buy a pattern and modify it?
oops double post!
All I can say if WOW you are talented for sure! :D
I need to learn how to keep the underwire from popping out of the store bought ones...any secrets you can reveal.
Should I sew up the edging before wearing them? |
Great job
Those are very nice. Where do you get the kits???

There are an amazing number of links that come up when you Google this subject! I just never thought about it, but it seems like a good option for hard to fit sizes.
Wow, your work is awesome, especially after the week's post about finding bras to fit properly. I bought 4 with a very good sales rep., and $80 later, they ride up my back and annoy me no end! Making my own could solve this problem, but I doubt they'd end up looking like yours!
Thank you for sharing! |
Wow...very impressed...do you have patterns? Can you do a tute...
I admire your skill...very useful talent to have. Much nicer than store bought (even expensive ones here tend to pop the underwiring or look shabby very quickly).
Yes, I do have a pattern. I buy all my supplies from [email protected] 316-684-5989
Anne came to my area through ASG to teach the class. She has been here several times. Check with her to see if she is available to do a class in your area. It is so worth the money you invest in the class. The pattern she drafts will be your pattern designed to fit your body. No, I would not even consider a tute as it would be very long and not fair to Anne. |

I am IMPRESSED----those look like "store-bought" to me!
Nice looking bras. You do a great job.

Amazing work!! :)
I've never tried the bra making, but do better at briefs/panties. The bras are harder to make.
Nice work, they look factory assembled. |
Very, very nice. Pretty too.
I too took a course to make bras and corsets... my problem is where do I purchase the materials. Places like Hancocks and JoAnn's do not have the materials needed to construct a bra

Here is a link I found that takes you right to the site mentioned. It does look like a couple of workshops are scheduled for any of you lucky enough to be in the right area. |

Link for doll lingerie, can be modified for other uses.

Very nice! I burnt my bra a long time ago but when I have to wear one I opt for the Hanes sleep bra. I don't have much to contain in one anyway.
