rag blanket surprise
I won a ragged out Panda blanket at a silent auction. Very cute and no I do not have a pattern. The surpise, however, is that it's made of black and white fleece. The edges are all snipped and of course they won't ravel since they are fleece, but it's still got loose floppy edges and works quite well that way.
I may make another rag butterfly and use fleece for both sides. |

I didn't make this but the pattern is Simplicity |
Congrats and it does sound pretty. Is it 2 layers of fleece or just 1?

I'm going to make the Lady Bug one. Probably not out of fleece, however |
Our local Project Linus received some "raggedy" blankets made from fleece, and they were surprisingly very nice. I don't mean to put down fleece, I use it for backings all the time, but I never thought to use it for piecing, particularly in a rag quilt. Would love to see a picture of yours!

I've made fleece ragged blankets out of 6" squares for years now and someone called them woobbies. I have a waiting list and some times wish there were more hours in a day so everyone could get their "woobbie".

Do you use batting with these fleece quilts or not? I could do this.....:)

Thank You, teacherbailey. I can see at least one of these in my future. There are so many cute, cute, cute fleeces out there. I like the "no batting" part as I know that can make one very heavy. I've made a couple regular ones using the batting and then have sent them to Florida. The shipping has cost as much as the quilt....LOL!

In reading this I am thinking one could use fleece for the Christmas quilt I am planning ! Cut out patteern sew around it and clip edges? Will try a block or two to see how it looks!
