Me too, but it doesnt help if you lock the purse in the car too!
So now I have a door key in my little wallet purse that I take in with me to the store sometimes by itself.

I left my new car in the garage all night running!!!!
I had just filled it up with gas. I suppose it was soooo
quite that I could not tell if it was running or not.
My husband said that I had killed all the mice at least.

Several years ago I left my keys in the car and the car running ALL NIGHT in my son's driveway. Was very thankful it was still there (unlocked!) when I went hunting keys the next morning! I could not believe I had actually done that!:)

Years ago I took my one year old son and crazy Irish setter with me to drop an envelope off somewhere-it was winter and I left the car running, since I only had to run a few steps-the dog pounced on the driver's side lock-I got a hanger (back in the day!) and everytime I'd get the lock up, the dog would pounce on it again-screaming baby, hyper dog-and a crying mom!!! I'll bet the dog played that game 8 times before I finally got in! Never did that again!!!! (try Volkswagens-you can't lock the keys in the car!!!)

Yep, did that when a friend and I were going out to lunch together, and was shocked to find the car still running. Gives a whole new meaning to the phrase 'OUT TO LUNCH'. Had to find a wire coat hanger and a guy to fish around and lift the lock.

I have one better. My DD and DGD went to the grocery store with me, I got DGD out of her car seat and walked into the store. When we came out the drivers door was open and the keys were in the jeep and the jeep was running!!

In the Philadelphia, PA area, the police will no longer come and open your car door for you. Does that sound like experience?

Also now the door locks are not easy.

When my DD was little, I laid her down in the back seat so I could change her diaper. Put the keys on the seat next to her. Picked her up when I was done, turned & shut the door. *then* realized I had locked the truck, but never picked up my keys. Thank goodness I had her in my arms, and thank goodness for AAA. After that, my mom kept a spare key to my truck on her keyring, and I had a key to her van.

Oh, this was also later in the day that I ran out of gas on the freeway, & my mom had to come rescue me. :-| As in she rescued me, we got to the store, and I locked my keys in the truck.

She still rags on me for it, 9 years later.

O.K. but what about your co-workers? Did none of them notice the car was still running as you left the vehicle? I say it is all THEIR fault! They probably put too much stress on you.

Locked the keys plenty of time, but can't say I left it running yet!
