She didn't give up - she adopted from a private party. The humane society really shot themselves in the foot with how they handled her case.

So glad to hear that! They should be happy to have a potential adopter - S*%t happens!

She is certainly precious. I have 2 rescues and love them dearly. Thank you for adopting her. Most people don't want older dogs, but they don't stop to think of the advantages. The are housetrained, they don't chew, they don't whine and are generally more settled into a routine.

that's so great for BOTH of you! Gladdens my heart just to hear about it!

She's beautiful and here's to many happy years together. Isn't it special to again have a dog in the house? I know it is here for me and it makes my heart jump just looking at my Merlyn when he's out in the yard watching wildlife.

Wildlife? Do chickens and horses count? And cats? She sure watched a Turkey Buzzard fly over the other day! All of the others are new to her so are getting barked at - the chooks were OK until one ran. Game on! Horses - "I never saw a dog that big! Good thing they're out there or I'd show them a thing or two." Cats? "I know one day we'll be friends, but just not quite yet, OK?"

Yes, the little, familiar things fill a hole in my heart!

I have recused furbabies in the past. They really make you feel good. Take care of her, she will be your friend a long time.
