I am all about "to each their own" but I gotta agree that that husband is annoying and obnoxious. I watch every now and then...its like a train wreck, hard to avert your eyes.

No I won't watch this show - its disgusting! I refuse to support a channel that supports and encourages it. Why can't they put on some decent shows?

Dodie 03-31-2011 03:47 AM

I agree TV needs some decent shows I have not watched this show but there are people who live like this and usually all but wife #1 is on welfare and food stamps

Here's a snipet from MSNBC's website:

Although it is rarely prosecuted, bigamy is a third-degree felony in Utah, punishable by a prison term of up to five years. Under the Utah law, a person can be found guilty of bigamy through cohabitation, not just legal marriage contracts.

I wonder what the law is in Las Vegas and if that had anything to do with their decision to move?

You know what they say about "vegas" What happens in vegas stays in vegas.

It seems to me the welfare and food stamps could be fraud. They are recieving monies for the show when should by rights leave the tax payers money alone.

akrogirl 03-31-2011 12:20 PM

The welfare and food stamps fraud was how they were able to go after some of the polygamist families in AZ.

Was there something discussed in their interview, or do we know whether this family actually does receive food stamps or welfare assistance? I'm thinking that if they don't, we really shouldn't go down that path of discussion.

I never heard anything about them using public assistance. I've read quite a few articles and seen all the episodes, but have not seen anything that implies they are. It's all speculation. There are 21 people in the Duggar family, they have specifically answered 'No', when asked if they use public assistance. I'm sure there are reporters have done research to determine if that's true.

I don't buy the it's my religion cop out. The man just wants to be the center of a group of women. The women are so flawed they want any attention. They all deserve each other.
