Big Love was not reality. Sister Wives is real but it is not really real. I don't underdstand the multiple wife thing. But until the courts change the ruling mulitple marriage is illegal. And then we are lucky in this courtry to have the freedom to watch what you want.

Thank you to all our military for keeping us free.!!!!!

As far as I know, he is not claiming the "wives" as dependants so what laws are they actually breaking?

Like I said, I would never share, but how is this different from a guy having a mistress who doesn't live with him vs. a "wife" who does and the real wife doesn't mind? Educate me.

A guy who has a mistress is not doing it with the prior consent of his wife; he is sneaking around behind her back. Don't know biblically if there is an difference. As far as I'm concerned adultery is adultery is adultery, no matter how you do it or what you choose to call it.

I'm watching - I have a fasination with the practice of pologomy.

The part I don't understand is their appearance on the Today show and then their disbelief when people don't approve of their lifestyle.

Interesting that several of the wives do seem to have full-time jobs, although in a show promo evidently the first wife gets fired after they do the TV show. And what does he do (other than appear in the TV series) that would have enabled him to support all the wives.....and the many children.

That's what I'm wondering...what is his job????

According to our newspaper, the Sister Wives gang have all moved to Las Vegas. Where they expect to find work here is certainly a mystery to me! Our unemployment is so high. I really laughed at the comment that the man acts 16 going on 13. Exactly! The women seem 'normal' but he is a Nut! What do they see in him?
Also, thanks to all who mentioned that they are NOT Mormons. There are many off shoot groups, it appears they belong to one...or their own?

My mom had two husbands. Bruce, my step father came around when I was 6. Mom Dad and Bruce lived together. Mom was with Bruce on the week days and Dad on weekends. They all went on vacation together and lived in the same house. My mom died early. Guess she was tired.
It worked for them.

I watch just out of fascination. I don't agree with or understanding how they do what they do, and I certainly couldn't do it, but I don't think they are really breaking any laws (except morally, of course), but one of the things I really don't get is the fact that they were on the Today show to "reveal to the world" their lifestyle, but the Sister Wives show was on for many months before the Today show "reveal". I know their lifestyle was written about and commented about. Why was anyone surprised when they were featured on Today?

I don't know what kind of work they expected to find, but the husband said on one show that they moved to Las Vegas because the poor economy has really made real estate and housing very affordable there. He never mentioned the unemployment situation!
