I was just reading a thread here about getting the smoke odors out of a quilt and some mentioned being bothered by smoke in restaurants.
Is smoking allowed in restaurants in your state? It hasn't been allowed in Ohio for several years now. I used to barely be able to be in a restaurant before! It is so wonderful NOT to have smoking allowed in restaurants! What about where you live? |
They banned it in Michigan too. :)
Banned in Washington. :D :D
Banned in NY.
Banned in North Carolina
Banned in Illinois
banned most everywhere in NJ
No Smoking in Colorado (that I know of)
Smoking is Banned from ALL indoor public places here in town.
No Restaurants, no theaters, no book stores, no cafes, no retail shops, no car dealerships, no public schools (though I see school teachers sneak their cigarettes at the corner playgrounds) no bars and grills, no indoor concerts, ...... |
Banned in NH and MA. It's wonderful, especially in the workplace, not to have to contend with smoke!
No smoking in TN - in any public places!
Not allowed n Colorado.

No Restaurants, no theaters, no book stores, no cafes, no retail shops, no car dealerships, no public schools Pretty much says it all here in California. I'm happy with the ban. Two years ago we were at a restaurant in another state. They asked us "smoking or no-smoking". I was shocked because I hadn't heard that asked in years. Apparently there was an "invisible wall" between tables that was going to keep the smoke away. |
It was banned so long ago here that I don't even remember when....early 90's sometime.
It depends on what city in Texas, it's not completely banned.
Not allowed in Pennsylvania (at least not eastern PA).
No smoking here.....so nice:)
No smoking in FL

The more you think about it, the grosser it gets! |
banned in Illinois for just 2 or 3 years. The ban includes all public places, including bars.
No. California has banned all smoking in all buildings except private residences or places that are only a bar. It has had no economic impact, but a wonderful impact on the quality of the air in all public places.
I smoked until 10 years ago, and stopped when the Lord told me to. I won't explain that....it's between me and Him!! :-) |
not in NY for at least 8 yrs now. THANK GOD!!!!!
No smoking in any public buildings at all. No malls or bars or government buildings. The only indoor place that smoking is still allowed is in your own home. Love it, love it, love it.
banned in Wi too now-I hated being in all that smoke-and trying to eat also.

I'm in Ohio too, but a few years ago when I was somewhere else we went into a restaurant and the hostess asked 'smoking or no smoking' and I realized it was the first time in years I had to answer that question. I like the no smoking in public places. When restaurants had the 2 sections smoke always would drift to my table.
We do still have smoking in some restaurants here in Virginia. Virginia was built on tobacco money so it's probably going to be the last state to ban smoking in all public places. It's the old Southern way with the new Southern way replacing one thing at a time. I quit smoking when they started banning it it some restaurants a few years back. Glad I did !!!

There are a couple of bars here that have smoking, but no children allowed. I am not sure what the laws are because they do serve food in at least one that I know of.

The State allows it but the City just banned it. Kentucky is another big tobacco state!
Banned in all indoor public places in WI.
In PA since 2008.
Thanks heavens NO!!!! No smoking in restaurants in California
Someone already said, it but it is Banned in all public places in TN. The exception being any establishment that has a 18 and over only. Such as bars and the like. Then it is up the the establishment.
I love it. Seems so long ago, though it has only been a few years. I could never go back to sharing a room with a smoker. Especially when eating. |
Not allowed in Iowa although could vary a bit in cities.
It is banned in Ontario Canada and I think in all the other provinces too. It is so nice to be able to have a meal without the terrible smoke smell.
It is banned in all indoor public places in Louisiana, except for bars. They are trying to get that passed. It is so nice to not be bothered by smoke. When I was young and immortal I smoked, so glad I was able to quit several years ago.
No smoking inside a public building in CA.
In Atlanta, you must choose to designate your establishment a bar and no under 18 allowed. One favorite burger joint has done that, but you know we were just there at lunch and I didn't see anybody smoking. Other then that it's no smoking.
I used to love having to walk *thru* the smoking area to get to the non-smoking, never made any sense to me. |
Banned in Arizona. Reminds me of a trip DH & I took to the east coast in 2000. We hated having to go to a restaurant in one of the tobacco states. Food and smoking doesn't work for me.
