no cooking, no dishes, no clean-up more time for quilting........... |
The last couple of days it's been in the high 90s after 1pm. I've been cooking early in the day and putting it in the fridge so we can just microwave whenever we're ready to eat dinner - 4:30 6:00 7:30 - whenever. It's been great!
P.S. the kitchen is clean of all cooking items by the time the food goes into the fridge - A BIG PLUS. After dinner there's only a few plates and silverware to wash. |

Crockpots and bar-b-ques are ideal for hot weather.
Put a pork roast in the crockpot with a bottle of bar-b-que sauce and let it cook all day. Serve the shredded meat on a hamburger bun. Then serve with cold slaw on the side and it's a good dinner that everyone enjoys. |
How do you bake your bacon? Mine never seems to turn out very good. I like mine crispy

When it's HOT.... I use my crock pot..... doesn't heat up the kitchen at all

I've never tried baking bacon.

Yesterday I cooked a whole chicken in the crock pot and it was so tender it was falling off the bones. Simply chop an onion and put it in the bottom of the pot. Put your favorite rub or seasonings on the chicken and cook it on high for about 4-5 hours for a 4 lb. chicken. No liquid is needed. Has anyone else cooked a whole chicken in the crock pot?
