Found the song Anna Lee w/lyrics. I believe it is pronounced the same as yours, i.e. onnalee.
Anna Lee Skipping stones at the edge of the dock The fog comes rolling in quiet like a hawk The river so smooth it could shatter with a rock It felt like I was walking on water Then the doctors daughter came and dove right in Lord Almighty she’s nothing but skin I could turn my head, but she may never come again She’s filling the sky with her laughter [Chorus] Anna Lee, Anna Lee You’re shaking the timbers, your rattling the leaves There’s a full moon rising in front of me Come on stake your claim in my memory Anna Lee, Anna Lee Did the good Lord send you down to deliver me? Come stake your claim in my memory I’m here and I’m yours for the taking Well along around midnight on a river boat ride I’m a mandolin jukebox and Annie at my side One bottle empty, one waiting like a bride She’s dancing like light on the water We’ve got six weeks ‘til college, six weeks until we’re gone Oh life is like a river and the river flowing on Come on Annie, your lips are like brandy (or you taste like brandy) Will you kiss me awake come morning? [Chorus] Anna Lee, Anna Lee You’re shaking the timbers, your rattling the leaves There’s a full moon rising in front of me Come on stake your claim in my memory Anna Lee, Anna Lee Did the good Lord send you down to deliver me? Come lay your head in a bed of leaves I’m here and I’m yours for the taking. [Bridge] I can’t promise a life time of tomorrows What tomorrow brings God only knows I know this about tomorrow They’re filling it with sorrow If we let tonight just go Anna Lee, Anna Lee You’re shaking the timbers, your rattling the leaves There’s a full moon rising in front of me Come on stake your claim in my memory Anna Lee, Anna Lee Did the good Lord send you down to deliver me? Come lay your head in a bed of leaves I’m here and I’m yours for the taking. Anna Lee, Anna Lee, Anna Lee, Anna Lee, Anna Lee |
Being a Sue and never being different all my life I gave my daughters unusal names.
I picked Denise Lynne when I was about 12 and then it was unusal. Lynne has a "e" on the end because I loved Anne (with a "e") of Green Gables. Next came Dynell Leigh pronounced as if spelled Denell. My sister had a friend named Janell and I had a friend named Delayne so we put them together. Leigh is for Janet Leigh who I loved. Notice now that their initials are the same. Next came Dalene Sue. Dalene is the end of Mary Magdalene. My aunt had a friend with this name. Her christening name was Magdalene and her Mother was afraid people would call her Maggie so she used Dalene. Next came Denette Letha. Had to keep the Da going and girls knew a girl at their school with this name. Letha was my Grandmothers name. My Granddaughter is Karlynne putting together her Mother's middle name and the first part of my Mother's name - Carmen. My Great Grandfather's name was Pinkney. |
My dad's name was Arna {R-na (short a)}. My mother's Adelene. My dad named us all with K--Karen, Keith, Katherine, Kim, Kenneth, Kary, Karla and then there's Jo Nina. She hates it and will only be called JO. I Named my children Jerry, Karrie, Tracy, and Christopher.

My GF fathered 22 children (1st wife died in child birth with #8).
My grandmother was Corinthia. I think they started running out of names. My GM's 1st born son: Pleasant Rudolph. I also had Aunt Verdie Vidella, Aunt Savilla (forgot her middle name), and my poor mom the 22nd child only got one name: Rosella. She always said couldn't they have named me Rose Ella so I'd have two names? |
My MIL's name was Erbyl
|
I also had an Uncle Corky.

My own name is pretty common, Terri, and I named my daughters fairly common names, just a little twist on the spelling, Traci, Holli, and Christa. But, hubby's middle name is Albin, his father was Olie, his mom was Adria, my mother was Gertie Iola, with sisters Gladys, Jewell, Fern, Nettie, Mabel, Pearl, Bertha, my grandma was Willie.
