This is a spin off from the weigh in and FQ thread. this will make it easier for Lneal.

We are here to support each other in our journey to lose weight. This is where you will come to post recipes or helpful diet and exercise tips along with the weight you have lost(if you chose to) It is also where you could be the winner of a prize if you lose the most amount of weight for the month. At the end of each month there will be a sign up thread for whoever whats to play the following month. If you are the biggest looser you will win a quilt related prize. This prize could be anywhere from FQ's or a 12 1/2 quilt block sent to you by the other players or even a gift card to a quilt/fabric store that the players chipped in for. Each month it will be a different theme, but the rules are the same. Sign up and PM me (trupeach1) Weigh yourself the 1st of the month and write it down. 4 weeks later weigh yourself again and PM me with the weight you have lost. I will announce the winner of the most weight lost and the rest of the players will send the prize directly to them except the month that there might be a gift card. Once the winner is posted you have to contact them for their addy.

As I stated above the prize will be a themed FQ or if it would happen to be a gift card we would chip in $1.50 about the price of a FQ. I will post what the prize will be for the following month on the sign up thread. There has be about 25 people that have played the past 2 months that means the winner would get a total of about 6 yds of FQ fabric, 25 beautiful blocks to make a quilt or if it would be a gift card about $37.

So lets make this work, sign up join in drop those extra pounds and get healthier.

This is the prize for May...........

May is the time when birds, bees and butterflies are all a flutter. This months FQ reward for the biggest looser will be fabric with insects or birds. THINK SPRING!!!!!!!!!!! The winner will receive 20 FQ's for a total of 5 yds of fabric.

Remember to come here and check in often. Post any helpful hints or program you are on. We are in this together.
Now let the fun begin and the pounds come off!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

trupeach1 05-03-2010 01:44 PM

Today I rearranged the living room so I have room to put a yoga mat on the floor and do pilates. When I say rearrange I mean I had to move box's of............fabric. They took up to much space so I pushed them out of the way, under the dining room table. I don't have an eat in kitchen but I never eat at the dining room table except when DS visits. I stopped eating at the table when I was alone. It just seemed so lonely that I started to eat in the living room while I watch TV. Bad habit but it was better then sitting at a great big table by myself.

I am back to weighing and measuring food.

Dinner tonight......chicken stir fry with lots of onions and bell peppers and only 1/2 c rice. yummo!!!!!!!!!!!!

trupeach1 05-03-2010 02:25 PM

and we have one more joining............
mama2josh

welcome aboard!!!!!!!!!!!!

mama2josh 05-03-2010 02:35 PM

Thanks! I am so excited. I need to lose this baby weight; my baby is 6 (years) on the 12th! My goal is to eventually lose 50 lbs. I'm going to try Weight Watchers online, and am also meeting with a nutrionist next Monday.
This is my first time seriously trying to lose weight since having my son, so if anyone has some tips on what has worked for them, I'd love to hear them!
Tara

jnagy1206 05-03-2010 03:33 PM

Welcome! You will find everyone to be very supportive and encouraging. I have found that limiting carbs works best for me as well as my daily 4 mile walks. Thank goodness I live in sunny AZ. Of course, I will be complaining of the heat soon enough & will have to resort to the treadmill instead of walking outside. I also strive to have a positive outlook every day, even when it is nearly impossible. It's amazing how powerful a smile can be. Good luck!

mama2josh 05-04-2010 09:05 AM

So I actually did my 30min workout today (I've got EA Sports Active for my Wii - it's like an interactive workout video) and burned 119 calories. I'm going to try to take my dog for a 2 mile walk this afternoon if it doesn't rain. I've gotta stick to it this time!

trupeach1 05-04-2010 01:11 PM

considering there are 22 people this thread isn't getting much action. Are you all out exercising or eating a chocolate cake................hummmmmmmmmmm I wonder. I have been doing really good this week except I have 1 problem I am adicted to wintergreen lifesaves. There are something like 60 caloried for 4, I eat about 25 per day. I have to stop doing it but I believe t has something to do with the wintergreen as I have heard of other people not being able to stop eating it too.

Dinner tonight...........stuffed peppers!!!!!!!!!!!

Leota 05-04-2010 01:35 PM

I am having fancy burgers tonight... that's where you take basic hamburger meat add, diced onions, diced tomatoes, green peppers, and chopped mushrooms a touch of garlic and pepper... squish together pat into patties, cook , eat :D oh and you can have any veggie side of your choosing :D... yummy for a change in low budget cooking. :D

BellaBoo 05-04-2010 01:37 PM

I'm dropping weight faster then I expected. I have cut my food intake. I haven't increased my exercise that much. I don't like exercising. I eat lots of raw or steamed vegetables all during the day. For breakfast I have a can of weight loss shake for the vitamins and 1/2 cup cooked steel cut oats. I eat the veggies throughout the day until dinner. I snack on fruit while I'm cooking the meal. DH eats what I eat which is usually a baked potato, yam, whole wheat pasta or brown rice, baked or broiled meat/fish, and more vegetables/salad. I eat yogurt, fresh berries, or raisins for an after dinner snack. DH likes popcorn or crackers and cheese. I started drinking Almond milk and I really like it. It's in most grocery stores milk aisle now.

jnebug 05-04-2010 07:13 PM

Last month I lost 10 1/2 and for the first week of May I lost 1 1/2 will continue with my walking and going this week to buy a exercise tape for my wii when it's raining outside.I have cut out junk food and snacks are fresh fruit or yogurt. The little guy I watch is getting his share of fresh air and our walks are becoming longer. It also helps him nap better, lol.Wish everyone lots of luck for May,

Yummo..............I make them that way with ground turkey. I don't like ground turkey but it has less calories then beef and if you stuff it it doesn't taste that bad. Not as good as beef but I will eat it.
Now what should I make for dinner tonight I have to take something out of the freezer to thaw.............

Weigh in tomorrow...........I think I feel thiner already

Leota 05-05-2010 06:56 AM

ok, Today is my birthday :D
DH made me an ice cream pie (two) and then we are going to dd this evening to bake cakes .. I don't expect to lose any weight this week. Will continue to walk :D maybe I can keep the calories at bay :0

JudeWill 05-05-2010 08:42 AM

Happy Birthday, Leota! I am doing much better this month. I went back to doing low carbs, hoping it will get me out of this plateau I've been on. So far, it's working. Onward and upward! Good luck everyone!

trupeach1 05-05-2010 01:16 PM

Happy Birthday LEOTA!!!!!!!!!!!!!

A little over a week ago I craved chocolate cake so I said the heck with the diet and made one. Little did I know I would eat the entire cake in 2 days. But I am back on track now.

Yippie we are twins!

mama2josh 05-05-2010 02:20 PM

Happy birthday Leota!

I did my second workout today, even though I was so sore this morning I could barely get out of bed. Have I mentioned I hate exercise? I guess it's a little bit more motivating on the wii, since it tells me if I'm doing it wrong and is interactive.
I joined weight watchers online, so hopefully I will be able to find some tasty recipes that will keep me from going back to my old ways. For lunch today I had greek chicken pitas - super yummy and only 4 points :-) And there are leftovers so I can have it tomorrow for lunch and not have to worry about making something.
I'm in the process of a fridge clean out - getting rid of the high-fat stuff that only I eat. The tough part for me is that I need to pack as many calories in to my son's food as possible (he was born with a critical heart defect, so he's on the smallish side and doesn't eat much) and my boyfriend has the metabolism of a hummingbird! 6'7", 200lbs and eats junk food all day. Plus he's a super picky eater (the f, not the son) So making meals that will please everyone and meet everyone's needs may be tough.
So I guess that sums up where I am right now. According to my Wii balance board, I've lost a pound so far this week.
Tara

Leota 05-05-2010 02:41 PM

Thank you Tara,
Fix for you and son and let dh fix for himself...
Keep going girls.. I'm a lifetime member of WW but I'm over weight because I didn't stay on program because my dh didn't like what I fixed... he liked junk food... Now I fix for me and if he doesn't like it he doesn't have to eat it... but don't even mess up the kitchen after I get it cleaned :D

You're doing great.........Take it one pound at a time and before you know it there will be 5 then 10 and so on. I saw on your profile you make aprons if you didn't know Moday is National wear an apron day. I will be sure to have one on. Then again I always wear on apron when I cook. :-D :-D

mama2josh 05-05-2010 03:01 PM

Ha, I didn't know that! I'll be sure to wear an apron on Monday now!

trupeach1 05-06-2010 10:45 AM

Got weighed this morning, I lost 1 lb. Baby steps but that is the way to keep it off. No crash diets that's when you gain it all back. Since Feb I have lost over 20 lbs so you all can do it just keep going. Yesterday my DD said my legs look thinner, not thin as I still have over 40 lbs to lose but thinner. I noticed I have somewhat of a waist.

Dinner.........leftover stuffed pepper!!!!!!!

carolevidak 05-06-2010 11:32 AM

Good for you Peach!!! 1 lb is 1 lb. Much better than a gain. You are doing so good. But, boy, does that stuffed pepper sound good.

Carole

JudeWill 05-06-2010 01:41 PM

Way to go, Peach! Keep it up!

Leota 05-06-2010 02:50 PM
