This morning I had a bowl of Raisin Bran and a tall glass of Carnation Instant Breakfast Essentials.

StitchnFind 06-21-2010 02:59 AM

Good morning, its already hot and humid again here. So i only had a two cups of coffee and some marble rye bread toast.

purplemem 06-21-2010 03:07 AM

I had homemade honey wheat bread I baked yesterday and now I'm about to have yogurt and sugar-free hot chocolate. I have some cold cantaloupe in the fridge I might take a stab at, also.

This is the best whole wheat bread I have baked, it contains a half cup of honey. It makes it softer and sweeter, not so coarse tasting.

fabric-holic 06-21-2010 03:17 AM

I'm bad.
I had 2 donuts, but they were sure good!

ranger 06-21-2010 03:27 AM

Two slices of whole wheat toast with raspberry jam, a banana and a tall glass of milk. That is my breakfast almost every morning.

sawsan 06-21-2010 03:36 AM

White cheese sandwich with a cup of tea I know not healthy together.
Later one digestive biscuit and small Turkish coffee

What is the US equivalent of a "digestive biscuit"? Why is a cheese sandwich and tea unhealthy? Just curious...

CarrieAnne 06-21-2010 04:04 AM

I had a bowl of Life cereal, coffee, and a handful of fresh picked raspberries.

raptureready 06-21-2010 04:24 AM

Nothing yet. When I do it will be 1 slice of toast with peanut butter and half a grapefruit. Nothing exciting.
We need Marsye to post us all breakfast. She made some yummy ones.

Wow. When do you go back? I was out May 21st and will go back July 30th. I feel like something is wrong when I am teaching in August, but I do like getting out in May.

Rosyhf 06-21-2010 07:56 AM

I have the same thing every day about 10 am. Cooked oatmeal (hubby makes that) he makes enough for 3 days. Then we had 1/4 cup of bran buds and cinnamon, if a banana is around, I put that in too...

Now and then, I will makes us scrampled eggs for a change, with onions and toast.

Talking about blueberries. I just picked up two gallons from the farmer at 14.00 a gallon. I will be freezing and making muffins and one pie first....

MistyMarie 06-21-2010 11:23 AM

I can't eat breakfast on the diet I am doing, but I can live on tea and coffee for breakfast. I usually went without prior to going on a diet.

ann clare 06-21-2010 11:27 AM

Tea, toast and marmalade.

Joanie2 06-21-2010 12:15 PM

I like to mix cereal for texture so I had a bit of Quaker Oat Squares, a bit of Frosted Mini Wheats and a bit of Special K with Pecans. Topped it with fresh raspberries and just enough milk to wet them down.

zennia 06-21-2010 12:51 PM

I LOVE cheerios as a snack, but it's not a good breakfast for me either...
When I had to lower my cholesterol from 275, it's now 189... I didn't , and still don't like the idea of oatmeal everyday, so I bought the' American Heart Association Low fat Low Cholesterol cookbook' there were some great recipes in there I still use. oh, the oatmeal.... I switch it up sometimes for brown rice, barley, and quinoa; it's nice change , plus still all great grains . Good luck!

I have ask for the recipe! That bread sound YUMMY!!!!

* 1-1/2 cups warm tap water
* 1/2 cup honey
* 1 tablespoon oil
* 1 teaspoon salt
* 4 cups whole wheat flour
* 2 teaspoons active dry yeast

Measure the ingredients into the bread pan in the order listed. Make a well in the flour and sprinkle the yeast into it. Set the machine to it’s Whole Wheat Cycle. On my machine this lasts for 3 hours and 40 minutes. Press Start, and let the machine work it’s magic. Remove the cooked bread from the pan after baking and allow it to cool before slicing. Makes a 2 lb loaf.

magpie 06-21-2010 04:37 PM

Purplemem,
Have you ever just used the machine for the dough cycle, then baked in oven? If so how long would you bake it? I don't care for the shape of the loaves from my machine(it was a gift from DMIL). Bread sounds delish :thumbup:

I haven't done that but I would expect bake at least an hour...I would google bread machine to oven conversion. Okay, I did this and it said to bake at 350 for 45-55 minutes. Watch so it doesn't burn.
Good luck!

shopella 06-21-2010 04:48 PM

I had coffee and forgot to eat. I started a quilt progect with my daughter we did a denim blanket. she had blueberry yogurt blueberries and miniwheats as I sorted out the fabrics!

stitchesnstaples 06-21-2010 05:01 PM

Brown sugar instant oatmeal with a tablespoon of peanut butter stired in, have this at work in the morning. I guess I have it almost everyday. Peanut butter helps get some protein in. Tastes really good.

littlehud 06-21-2010 06:51 PM

I had two over easy eggs, sausage and toast. Coffee too. Not the healthiest breakfast but it sure was good.

::sniff, sniff::: You didn't call me, and there isn't much I love better than fresh fruit!

Oh well, I managed to have a tasty breakfast anyway.

When I eat breakfast these days, it's mostly at the cafeteria where I work. Today I had a bagel with butter (really margarine) and cream cheese, a small smount of scrambled eggs, some water and a banana. The bananas out here in California just seem so much better than those on the East Coast, even though I really like bananas from anywhere.
