I do not really like the taste of coffee so i normaly drink hot chocolate or warm tea in the mornings. Every once in a while i will get a vanilla bean frapacino or straberrys and cream frapacino form starbucks. In the afternoons i normaly drink tea sometimes soda but not very often. My grandma and Aunt drink coffe all day while they work on their projects so i was curious as to what every one else drinks?? or if they drink anything while working? does any ony have a rule of no drinks/food around their projects?

kathy 01-20-2011 11:23 AM

coffee/coke, carefully!

TN Donna 01-20-2011 11:23 AM

I love Lemon hot tea, iced tea, ice water, coffee and hot chocolate. Oh and cranberry juice--unsweetened.

Vanuatu Jill 01-20-2011 11:25 AM

No rules here-I make my own and what I say goes!!LOL I like Ice tea for a cold drink-sometimes just soda water with a bit of fruit juice for flavor (what ever happens to be opened in the fridg). At night, or when I am cold, hot tea-MUST have my pot of tea in the morning, and either jasmine green tea or chai green tea at night (can't take cafine at night if I want any kind of sleep at all!). Sometimes DH will bring me in a cognac in the evening, but that usually ends my quilting for the night after it is finished!!

Ditter43 01-20-2011 11:25 AM

Usually peach tea! I love it....... :D

quiltsRfun 01-20-2011 11:27 AM

I'm one of those no food or drink near the project people. Don't know why, I've never had a mishap but it just seems to make sense. Also, due to back problems it helps to take frequent breaks so the trip to the kitchen for a drink or a snack works for me. As for what I drink, it varies. Whatever I happen to be in the mood for at the time. But I don't drink coffee all day so it will likely be water or a soft drink.

DebsShelties 01-20-2011 11:27 AM

No drink or food in my sewing room, don't want to chance spilling on either machine - sewing or laptop computer.
My dogs get wild at time playing and tend to bump things.
Easier to just not have food/drink nearby. If I want something I go to the kitchen and have it there, then come back to sewing.

cctx. 01-20-2011 11:28 AM

Good strong coffee.

Lightening57 01-20-2011 11:29 AM

I drink diet coke sam's choice, and I have no rules

thequilterslink 01-20-2011 11:29 AM

No beverages or food in my sewing room, my rule for ME. I need the breaks to go to kitchen for a drink, so it works good for me.

SaraSewing 01-20-2011 11:31 AM

diet dew! Gotta have something to wet my whistle. Drinks (AND cookies!) are allowed for me!

dotcomdtcm 01-20-2011 11:33 AM

water

bj 01-20-2011 11:38 AM

Coffee in the morning and diet coke the rest of the day. I don't eat in my sewing room, tho.

belmer 01-20-2011 11:46 AM

A hot cup of tea or usually it's water.

luvTooQuilt 01-20-2011 11:47 AM

Pepsi !

SewsonSaturday 01-20-2011 11:49 AM

hmm peach tea and cranberry jucie sounds like a nice change from my regular drinks.iwe all put our cups on the counter behind where we are working. We dont normaly eat while we are working unless its just a no-mess snack like some crackers or bread, but we always clean up and eat lunch we we were working and start working again once we are all done eating

vintagemotif 01-20-2011 11:49 AM

Tea! Morning is coffee, and after my two cups of coffee, I then drink tea.

luvstitches 01-20-2011 11:52 AM

Always water or hot green tea in the evenings.
Sometimes when I get really frustrated with a quilt top, I'll call my buddy over, Samual Adams. (kidding!)

sharon b 01-20-2011 12:11 PM

Pepsi

amandasgramma 01-20-2011 12:21 PM

Pepsi!!!! I didn't know there was anything else!!!

Jim's Gem 01-20-2011 12:21 PM

Water or Hot Tea. But I keep it away from my work!!!! And my sewing machine.

oatw13 01-20-2011 12:23 PM

House rules - No food or drinks except in the kitchen and dining room.

We all have water bottles we use throughout the day that are kept in the kitchen.

:)

pookie ookie 01-20-2011 12:23 PM

I only drink water and protein shakes. That's it unless I go to a restaurant in the south. Then I'll get a 50/50 sweet tea. :0D

canmitch1971 01-20-2011 12:27 PM

My favourite drink is water. Nothing like it.

quiltnut4ever 01-20-2011 12:32 PM

I'm a full blown Starbux hot chocolate drinker! I don't drink coffee or tea (never liked the taste and very heavy on my stomach) but when I'm sewing or relaxing I'll always have a bottle of water next to me!

nycquilter 01-20-2011 12:44 PM

I make a large bottle (1/2 gal mason jar) of some herbal tea almost every day, so what I drink changes on my mood. I usually gather the herbs myself in the spring and summer and use them for their medicinal purposes...Like dandelion leaves if I think my liver needs help or mugwort if I'm PMS-cranky (post-MS in my case). I do not eat in my sewing studio because I don't want to chance dirtying something. I keep the glass of tea far from where I'm sitting so no accidents will happen. I am terminally clumsy!

leatheflea 01-20-2011 12:56 PM

coffee in the morning, chocolate milk after that, and then mountain dew!

mic-pa 01-20-2011 01:03 PM

Nothing liquid near my projects or quilting. In fact the rule in this house if you eat or drink it must be in the kitchen.

Tropical 01-20-2011 01:04 PM

I usually drink water because that is my favorite drink. No matter what I drink, I don't worry because I set it on a table in the sewing room that I am not working on.

lyndad 01-20-2011 01:15 PM

I drink coffee in the mornings and water the rest of the day, occasionally if it's really cold at night I will have a cup of hot cocoa. I keep a bottle of water in my sewing room.

AtHomeSewing 01-20-2011 02:18 PM

LOL - make me want to say TEQUILA.

Really, 2 big cups of coffee in the morning while I check what's going on here, then plain water but I get it when I take a break.

Yup, that is exactly my drinks, & I'm such a klutz I don't dare put a mug or glass within 10 feet of my sewing stuff.

Hmmm, my momma used to give me a dose of peach tea quite often, but I never learned to love it... And of course, there was hickory tea, maple tea, cane tea, birch tea, my momma, she just swore by that tea...

luvnquilt 01-20-2011 02:39 PM

Generally wine because I don't get to work on projects much during the day so after the kids are in bed, I will pour a glass and go hide in my office for a while. But that's only a couple days a week. ;)

quiltgrammyt2 01-20-2011 02:55 PM

Water with LOTS of ice.

Lisa_wanna_b_quilter 01-20-2011 03:07 PM

Tea -- hot or cold depending on the season. About a gallon every day. I love the stuff.

sewTinker 01-20-2011 03:08 PM

coffee in the morning (with milk, because I'm not a breakfast kind of girl). Bottled water in the day. Tea in the evening. Wine or Port at night. I put my coffee in a travel mug that closes and take it with me to my sewing corner; and, keep the lid on my water. If I sew in the evening, I just drink my water. I'm not a juice or soda kind of girl. Sometimes, I'll have a cocktail while I'm cooking dinner. Once a week, maybe. If that. Scotch & water on the rocks is my latest yummy.

NCquilter 01-20-2011 03:10 PM

I like to drink iced tea in the summer and hot tea in the winter.
