There are 3 things that I buy in the store that have to be name brand. Kraft mac and cheese, chef boyardee and campbells soups. Everything else is generic.

We splurge on scuba diving. We hunt for Shark's Teeth and other underwater fossils and artifacts. We found a 6" shark tooth last year.

I definitely go all out on candle tarts. I collect tart warmers and have over 25 of them for all seasons. When Yankee Candle has them for $1.00 each I will spend at least $50 at a time to stock up. So I guess that would also count as being thrifty....right?

Considering I have virtually no income, I guess my splurge is on Lands End mock turtlenecks. No other brand seems to wear as well, fit me without question, have beautiful new colors each year, and feel so good in the cool/colder months for me. I literally live in them; I've had (a different) one on my body every day since early November!! I buy them on sale as often as possible and look for the free shipping coupons near Christmas time.

I guess I'm a splurger! Have to have Starbuck's ground coffee, really good chocolate to bake with, just bought a bread machine to have fresh baked bread, now a wheat mill is on my list-
BUT! My REAL splurges are handbags and shoes! (shhhh! don't tell DH!)

Really good steaks. I like NY Strip cut at LEAST 1" thick and freshly cut. Hubby grills steaks perfectly and we eat quite a bit of it in the summer.

I also splurge on the absolutely best cookie in the world, Pepperidge Farm "Brussles".

Other foods include: Tea & Stilton Cheese from England, Olive Oil from Italy, coffee from Jamaica (for Hubby), and more cheese from every where else (we love cheeeesee!).

My dogs. Only the best as I breed and show them. Their food is pretty pricey as are the grooming supplies/tools that I use. You think you spend a lot on a pair of good fabric shears?

Books. Lots of them. Both traditionally bound books and books on tape.
