"Lost Moon" by James Lovell. I believe this is the book the movie "Apollo 13" was based on. It starts with the heart wrenching Apollo 1 fire that killed Grissom, Chaffee and White. All the names of schools in my hometown of Huntsville, AL. The Rocket City. My FIL was backup launch crew for the Apollo 13 mission and said the movie caught the atmosphere of controlled panic and cooperation during that time. He was one of the guys in the hornrimmed glasses trying to get them back.

Now reading Elizabeth Street by Laurie Fabiano. http://www.amazon.com/Elizabeth-Stre...8153567&sr=1-1 |
Just finished the Hunger Games Trilogy. Now I am reading Eight State Hurricane Kate about a rescued dog from New Orleans after Hurricane Katrina. I love to read and always have a book I am reading.

I read the "Immortal life of Henrietta Lacks" it was fascinating. Right now I'm reading a book called "The Rescue". Don't have it with me so I'm not sure, but I believe the author is Anita Shreve. It's been an interesting read.

I'm reading The Given Day by Dennis Lehane. It could just be me (maybe I need to stick with lighter reading while life is sort of crazy!) but I've struggled a bit "getting into it" though the subject matter is interesting. It's getting better, about 1/3 of the way through. Has anyone else read it? |

Just finished Water for Elephants and Devil in the White City. I am in the middle of A Thousand Acres by Jane Smiley and will be starting The Girl Who Kicked the Hornets Nest. By the way, this thread is why I read both the Water For Elephants and Devil in the White City. Thanks to those of you who recommended both.
