I know that you do not ring the places they are from my country, Argentina, but I will tell the story.
I was born in the Province of Buenos Aires, but when my mother died (I was very small), we moved to the Black River Province and there I grew up. Then I moved to looking the Province of Neuquen and live here for 28 years! I have not got a friend in my town who likes the patchwork! But the friends accompanying me on my blog and now I found this great place! A hug! |
I live in New Hartford, NY. Kim

Born in Ohio. Ran away as teenager to Phoenix, AZ. Married a couple years later, and wouldn't you know it? He was from Ohio so we came back (to a different city than where I grew up) because his father was going downhill. Been here (in several different cities) ever since.
Not really attached to Ohio but this is where my grown kids and grandkids are so I'll stay. Would love to live in London, England! When I was there with my second husband I fell in love with the city. |

Too, my friends and I would walk several blocks away AT NIGHT to the local Miss Georgia Dairy (now that is a long time ago !). I went to elementary school, high school and Ga State University in downtown Atlanta ! Over the years I have all my children at the formerly known as Ga Baptist Hospital. Moved to Clayton County and then later to Fayette County to insure my children the best public education I could find.
I live as far away from Atlanta now as I ever have; BUT, I did spend today in the city having lunch at a landmark restaurant (Mary Mac's) and spent the rest of the day shopping. I love the slower pace of life here in Carrollton, the absence of the traffic and the friendliness of strangers here. We are not immune to crime here in Carrollton, but I have a general sense of overall safety. first hubs was born in VT, esx juct, and we were there a lot. I grew up in perry, ny, lived in mt. home, idaho a yr while hubs was in AF. After he died i was in amherst, ny then grand island, ny. Spent some time in Atlanta, ga and ended up with hubs #2 (#1 died), in hampton, sc. What is so nice about this post is that the country is so big there are so many wonderful places to live. I would love to visit so much of the USA. I love movies like Oklahoma, and State Fair - movies that are shot on site -cus they give you the feeling of being in places so different than where you are. (I know it sounds silly, but I think of Iowa as a rather exotic place) sharet |

I grew up in the Bronx, NY, married DH in 69, moved to Staten Island, NY in 74, bought our house and raised our 2 kids there. After 33 years on Staten Island, we retired to Casa Grande, Az. Love small town living -- we're right in the middle between Phoenix and Tucson.
Here to stay till they carry us out. Just miss DD and hubby and the rest of the family back home in NY. (sniff) |
Born in Denver CO, moved to Salina Ks at age 6, graduated from Old Salina High in 1951, married my best school chum, he joined the Army after graduation, we traveled all over the world, raised 3 kids, retired on Guam and after 14 years on Guam we moved to TX, I retired from AAFES in 2000 and live in Oak Point TX now.

We lived on Staten Island for 33 years. It was always a toll to leave the Island, and after a while, the tolls choke you. If they fixed the roads, you wouldn't mind, but NY is pothole city.
Between tolls and $3.89/gallon gas, I have to say I'm glad to have moved away. No tolls and $3.20 gas in Casa Grande, Az. |
what does AAFES mean?? so many acronyms nowadays

Born in Reno,NV, lived in Carson City, NV. My Dad's work moved us to a mining town in northern CA (can't remember name of town, doesn't matter as it is no longer there), then to Delta, UT. Parent's divorced, mother, sister and I went back to Carson City. Dad remarried, got my sister and me back, and moved to Salt Lake City, UT, then Bountiful, UT, next Anaconda, MT, then Inspiration Point, AZ, Globe, AZ. Dad got out of the mining business, and we moved to Show Low, AZ. Graduated from high school (Snowflake,AZ) and moved to Phoenix, then I went to Prescott,AZ. Got married, moved to the Los Angeles area and for the next 12 yrs, lived between there and the San Francisco area. Got divorced, remarried, he wanted to move back here because his folks were having medical problems, so I have now lived in FT.Wayne, IN for the last 40 yrs.

I was born in Mo., lived here most of my life except for short stints in El Paso, Tx and Brawley Calif. Have lived different places in Mo., but have been in Central Mo. close to a town called Boonville, Mo. for the last fifty plus years. Haven't seen a lot of people from Mo. on here, where are you Missourians? We have traveled over a lot of US, the favorite being the western part and have talked about moving to the southwest where it is warmer, but getting to old now, need to be where we can get help from the kids if needed. Presently live in the country on about 14 acres and thinking of moving into Boonville, as it is getting more than hubby and I can take care of. Presently live underground and know we won't live anywhere as economically as we do now, so hate to leave, but know the time is coming. So if anyone wants a small acreage with a 3200 foot underground home, let me know, maybe we can work out a sale of somekind. Meanwhile it is great to learn where everyone is from and living. Wish I could take a tour of the country and visit with each of you and get acquainted. Think it would be so much fun. Happy quilting to everyone. themachinelady
