HeatherQuilts: It's hot and humid here in Minnesota, too. 91 degrees with a heat index of 96. (I think it feels a LOT hotter, though!)
Is it September yet?? I'm not a big fan of summer.....

I'm from west of St. Cloud (MN) and OMG, it is sooo hot. Should be a respite coming in a day or two I guess. Good time to quilt, eat fruits and veggies!!!!!!!

Just rub it in!!! Lol

Well, when you live in Paradise!! Oh, wait, that's Hawaii, Oh well, next best thing!!!

Lmbo!!!!

lab fairy 08-03-2010 03:51 PM

Yeah, yeah...rub it in. My mom tells me I live in He##. She was wearing a sweater this morning because it was so cool. I'll remind her that I'm not digging any snow when they get another 36 inches in one night.

Ditter43 08-03-2010 03:54 PM

It's been the same here and the rain keeps going around us!! Thank goodness for AC...I can't imagine life without it! :-P

Most of the homes in my town don't have AC. Mine included. We only need it a few days out of the year (sometimes that's December-January)
I do enjoy it in the car cause it gets hot in the car when it's been closed up.
Most businesses around here have AC. If it gets real hot, we all go shopping or to the movies! :)

mountain-moma 08-03-2010 04:19 PM

3 H's here again today with a pop up thunderstorm but even the rain felt hot.I'll so welcome Fall been 96 here all week got the AC running day and night i love cool weather

franie 08-03-2010 04:32 PM

Come on up! We have had a cool and wet summer in my part of Alaska this summer.

sharon b 08-03-2010 04:56 PM

Just before 9 pm here still 82 with humidity feels like 87  but then tonight it is "suppose" to get down to 72  A girl can hope

littlehud 08-03-2010 05:33 PM

We usually camp a lot in the summer. Not this year. 90 degrees plus humidity make it bad in a tent. Maybe next year we will camp more.

cjomomma 08-03-2010 05:38 PM

The temp right now is 89 with an index of 99 degrees. The humidity is 63% abd the dew point is 75 degrees. It si still nasty outside. Tomorrow is suppose to be even worse and I gotta go grocery shopping. Guess I will go before the sun comes up.

husband-of-a-quilter 08-03-2010 05:47 PM

For me this has been a great summer, I am one of the odd balls that enjoy the heat and humidity. 8-) I am certainly not looking forward to winter.

grammyp 08-03-2010 05:53 PM

We have had record breaking 100+ for the past 3 days, with at least 2 more expected. No rain (at least at our house) for over 2 weeks. No bike riding for me for a while.

Eddie 08-03-2010 05:58 PM

Here in Arkansas we have been at 11 straight days now with temps above 100 degrees. Ugh! Enough already!

cjomomma 08-03-2010 06:00 PM

I moved front the central valley in cali because I was tired of the heat and too many ppl.
I agree with Eddie enough is enough.

Jingle 08-03-2010 06:13 PM

Our temp. got up to 100 today, tomorrow is to be a little warmer. It's suppose to cool down to 90 for Thurs. and Fri.
Our humidity is lower than usual, it goes up at night and as the heat goes up it goes down. We use to always have high temp.s and high humidity.
I have never liked hot weather, was raised in central Il. and believe me it was just like here, seems it did cool down in Sept.

MamaHen 08-03-2010 06:13 PM

Here in N Florida we have had 26 out of the last 28 days with temps above 90. Was a 100 today, right now at 9pm it is 82 with 88% humidity. Thunder storms off & on, about 1" of rain in last three days. Cools off, but then gets hot again when clouds move on. Being a transplant from Alaska, I just keep saying "I DON'T HAVE TO SHOVEL IT"

67 with 68% humidity at 7:36 pm
We're about 10 miles from the coast which keeps us cool in the summer and warm in the winter. We have the most temperate climate in the nation in our county.

Chele 08-03-2010 06:54 PM

LOL! I'm in Florida. Hot AND muggy all summer long. Not just this one. Remember when we were all complaining about the frigid winter? I think it actually snowed in Florida! Unheard of! It was a really cold winter everywhere. Well, that's over.

Don't forget to hydrate and stay inside and sew. Blast that a/c. It's going to bite into the fabric budget, but we ladies need to be cool.

lilpoohbearie 08-03-2010 07:02 PM

It's just reached a high of 74 today and well this stinks last year was over 100.

p38flygirl 08-03-2010 07:30 PM

105 in louisiana today...same expected tomorrow....p38flygirl

sharon b 08-03-2010 07:54 PM

At 11 pm we were at 78 with 88% humidity , I gave up and turned on the A/C

I live in Central California, and we have been searching for the "best place to retire to". We want to get away from 6 months of 90 degrees and higher temps. After reading all of these posts, my dreams are being dashed! Is there anywhere where the summers are lovely?

lab fairy 08-03-2010 09:30 PM

Oregon? I love Cannon Beach in the summer.

moonrise 08-03-2010 10:48 PM

It's miserably hot here in NW Georgia. It's 82 degrees right now even though it's 2:40am, with a heat index of 86 degrees!

Tomorrow's temperature is supposed to be 99 degrees. The expected heat index is supposed to be "at least 105". Ugh. With the humidity, it's like being in a sauna. It feels like you're breathing hot water.

We've had to supplement our regular house A/C with two window units because it can't keep up. Our house faces straight west, and is in full sun from around 9am until sundown. I'm really thankful we had the two extra window units!

I'm in the process of making DH some neck coolers he can wear at work, if I can find what I did with the doggone crystals.

Come on, winter!!!

p38flygirl 08-04-2010 03:52 AM

in north Louisiana it was 106 yesterday..Supposed to be the same again today...

cjomomma 08-04-2010 04:07 AM

Good morning! It's 7 am and it's 79 outside and the humidity is at 88%. It's gonna be nasty. You all try to stay cool today.

paintedquilt 08-04-2010 04:58 AM

hot and as humid as H--l. According th the news we were as hot as Atlanta :!:

sandybeach 08-04-2010 09:22 AM

We are "the gateway to Death Valley" here in the Mojave Desert of CA. Surprisingly it has been a rather cool year. Today is supposed to be 107 and 106 tomorrow. And the night is supposed to get down to 67. That is unheard of here. I remember summers where it didn't get below 115 for weeks on end. Our weather seems to be changing. It isn't nearly as hot in the summer (I remember the day it hit 124) or as cold (we once hit 6 degrees - it froze the incoming natural gas valve to the whole city). But it has been one of the windiest years. The month of June we only had 10 days without high winds (35+ mph). But it will be the first of November before it actually cools down here and probably 1 April when we crank up the swamp cooler again. I guess every place has its problems.

sueisallaboutquilts 08-04-2010 09:24 AM

This heat is getting really monotonous. I absolutely can't stand it!! My flower beds are a mess b/c I can't stand being outside. I am so grateful for AC or else I would be the biggest witch in the world!!
I can't remember a summer this bad every single day. I'm dreaming of blizzards haha
Keep cool everyone~!~

mochasue 08-04-2010 09:47 AM

I live in Central California - on the coast of Pismo Beach! I would have to say that this has been one of the coolest summers I can remember. I have been freezing. The other day I just sat in the car with the windows rolled up in the sun just to get warm. (with the kitty on my lap!) We both loved it! Oh, and I had a blanket on me. The other night it got down to 37. I'm not kidding! I would love hot and humid for a few weeks!

FancyFoot 08-04-2010 09:55 AM

July was Las Vegas' HOTTEST month EVER
Yes it was 115+ for days in a row...& 100+ over night.

Way too hot :x :x :x
At least we are back to the norm a nice & cool 105.
Humidity @ 10%...Over nights in the upper 70's

farmerswife 08-04-2010 09:55 AM

Yes. Hot here for weeks now. 99 yesterday with heat index at 110. I dont want winter but this is crazy. We had a really wierd winter with really cold to the bone temps.

reach for the stars 2 08-04-2010 10:45 AM

It's 104 right now the shade. I'm ready for a little cooling off period. This is the hottest summer since the first one when we moved to central Illinois 12 years ago. I absolutely hate hot humid weather. I like to be outside but it is to hot.

sasseyib 08-04-2010 12:20 PM

Here in Louisanna it is 97 and humid. Heat index is 113. We are suppose to get some thunder showers tonight.

Ventura County is beautiful!!!

cjomomma 08-04-2010 12:41 PM

We are at 103 with an index of 114. Humidity is only 38% so it is a dry heat, even the breeze is hot.

I'm just down the road from you by 130 miles or so, and yes, it has been a cool summer so far. We need a long sleeve shirt in the evenings.

Eddie 08-04-2010 12:45 PM

It was only 105* on the way home while ago. Down a bit from yesterday's 108*.

Pam B 08-04-2010 12:46 PM

It is 97 here in central IN at 4:45pm. Today is being forecast to be the hottest day of the year. I am not sure about that...but, at least there is a hot breeze blowing. I like some hot weather but this summer has just been HOT all the time. I think there were just a couple days in June that we were able to turn of the a/c and open the windows. We have had plenty of rain, as well so the yard keeps growing quickly and my flower beds look good. It is taking a toll on my flower pots, though. I just can't keep them watered enough. Personally, I am ready for fall to get here.

aurora41 08-04-2010 12:46 PM

For sure not here in San Francisco.
