I was young (18)and naive and he was good looking. It has lasted 53 years because I stick with it because of the kids. He did get bettter after the first 33 yrs. I know he loves me, but after all the rough years I find we are so different. I often think what it would be like to have someone that likes the things I like, is there to support me when I need it, and is fun to be around. My DH's father was not a good example for him.
All these wonderful stories are proof that marriages can be wonderful if you get the right man. |
Because he asked me, oh yes, he was almost ready to cry if I didn't say yes. Now 51 years later he still makes me laugh and he still treats me like a queen.

We were jr high sweet hearts. Been married 33 years. After 22 years of marriage he needed a kidney transplant. No one in his biological family was a match.I got tested was a perfect match! That was 11 years ago and his/my kidney is doing great. We have 3 wonderful kids married to wonderful spouses and expecting our 7th grandchild. God is faithful.

I met my hubby on a blind date and knew he was the one. We went to a town fair and on the way back to the car he kissed me in front of a church and the church bells rang. What a sign! We dated three months and got married and I followed him for 20 years thanks to the US Air Force. We are now retired and happily married for 43 years. They say Love is Blind so we figure that's why we stayed together! Also he had a broken arm from a motorcycle accident and I felt sorry for him.

I met my husband to be in 5th grade when I moved to his town. In 7th grade we liked each other and he gave me a ring that I hid from my Mom because she wouldn't have liked me having it. We started dating in our Sophmore year and by the time we were Seniors we knew we wanted to get married. He gave me my engagement ring the night of our senior prom and we were married October 19, 1956. He's the love of my life and my best friend. I feel so sorry for the young couples today who don't commit to marriage. I love every minute of it.

He was a handsome and charming Naval aviator. We knew within 2 weeks of meeting that we would marry, but he was about to leave on cruise. 3 months later, he sent me an airline ticket to meet him in Japan. I did, and we married there - and I followed the ship.
We're about to celebrate our 49th anniversary. After the Navy, he flew for Pan Am, and I continued to follow him around the world. Our kids enjoyed traveling, too, and our son was a Naval aviator and now flies for United Airlines. Our daughter misses the days when she could travel on passes, but she sure took advantage of it when she could! |
We were in his Volks with his three children, the dog and bags of grocery. We were friends, his former wife left to have a career in writing. He mentioned that if he ever remarry, he would be a package deal. A few months later, I bought the idea. Best purchase'' i ever made!. Lots of happy freebies (happy moments )came with it
