Don't feel too badly; you are not alone! I can bake breads & big cinnamon rolls from scratch, and I can not bake a normal cake to save me! Used to have a neighbor that asked to be alerted when I was baking a cake so she could watch as wierd things happen in the oven when mine bake too!

these pictures of the cakes were my best laugh this year. had a similar experience once, and cried, but every crumb was eaten out of dishes and ice cream......so this was a really good memory...

Some very good memories have been made in our family with cakes that flopped! It always seemed to happen to the same kid on his birthday too. He is now 35 and we look back and laugh at the baking disasters that became his birthday cakes!

Oh my gosh. That reminds me of one I made for the MIL of my 1st marriage, many years ago. I used green icing on the cake which was too warm when I frosted it and it broke in pieces too. What a disaster. Hmmm, she never did like me. Wonder if it was that cake? haaa. So funny to think of it now. Thanks for the laugh.

Put with chocolate pudding in dishes turns out great.

maria, it has been years (Iwas13) when our "disaster cake" came about. I openrd a window over the coolinf cake and the mugs that had been on the upper part of the window. fell and messed up the cake. We stirred it and adeed whipped cream and fudge frosting! it is still an all time favorite in my family
