years ago, my sister called she neededhelp!! her cupcakes weren't turning out & they were for school. She wanted the SECRET. She had tried everything! Drove over there-she had over 60 cupcakes strewn over the counters--burned, undercooked, forgot an ingredient, over creative, ect. She tried from scracth & box. I had not believed her!-took her to the bakery!!-not enough time for anything else. I still LAUGH when I think how hard she tried to something so simple& it just didn't work!

This thread makes me want to mess up a cake on purpose and try some of these.

This thread also reminds of the time that I was preparing for my step-son's graduation party. I had purchased a full sheet cake from the bakery, decorated in hot pink and black frosting. As I was carrying it in the house to the serving table, it slid off the cardboard box it was in, and landed...you guessed it...upside down right on the light colored carpet! Needless to say, the cake was ruined, my carpet was a mess and I was freaking out. The guests were coming in less than an hour and I didn't know what to do. Anyway, so I called the bakery and told them what happened. They whipped up another cake for me in about a half hour and gave it to me at no charge! The party went off without a hitch, but I can only imagine that there is still some pink stains in that carpet...

I've had that happen too! If it tastes good, nobody cares if it's a little lopsided!

Oh I am so sorry but I can't stop laughing. You must have a great sense of humor to post those pics.

Ah, but Dahling... you put it in a big clear glass bowl, add some whipped cream (and some brandy, if it's for adults) and call it trifle. <G> Never, ever let chocolate go to waste!

My family would have eaten it. I'm sure it tasted good, putting it in a dish with ice cream was mentioned. Good idea.
