Lalaland...your kitty is just bringing you her "rent". Afterall, I am sure she does not want to get evicted from such a loving home. :)

Our cats are all outdoor cats. Shadow, momma of two kittens, disappeared a couple of weeks ago. The kittens are about 3 months old, so she was just starting to teach them how to hunt. Since she is no longer bringing them mice, every time my trap catches a mouse indoors, I take it out for them. It never stays in the food dish for long!!

I say, be grateful you have your cat. My favorite was hit and killed by a car this past week. She was only four years old. I am still crying. Enjoy the mischief, even if it wakes you up!

I'm so sorry for your loss, they really make such an impression on us, why else would we talk about them like they were wayward children that we love in spite of themselves!

Thank you. I am heartbroken. She was one of those with a "people-like" personality. I still can't figure out why she went into the road. She has never even gone near it. I just sat in the yard holding her and bawled like a baby...

I take my dog out for a walk in our track after midnight, she's very old and doesn't see too well, the cat always go with us and is her guide. My cat is pretty skittish but for some unknown reason, he goes in the street when we're walking, and, of course, the dog follows him. I don't get it, fortunately there's never any traffic that late, but I don't know why he feels compelled to go in the street. Last night he just flopped down and laid in it. It must be one of those mysterious cat things and you can only hope they are in a bad place at a good time.

I agree: be glad you have your kitty. Last week, I did the last act of kindness for my 13 yr old cat. I loved him dearly but he was not my baby Tigger. I apologized for not loving him as much as Tigger. That was Jake's only fault and was not his fault at all.

My DH was very attached to the first cat we had together as a married couple and he's never quite warmed up to any of our others cats in quite the same way. Our last cat, before our new cat Buddy, was one neither of us ever warmed up to and I don't think we were her faves either, but she stuck around and lived to be 18, even said goodbye to us in her own way before passing.

My dog brings me miles out of the yard. Sometimes she brings in ones that are praticularly ripe and hides them. Not too hard to find because of the smell.

have three cats in the house

when we had a couple of mice get in, the cats either ignored them or sat up "safe" on mums bed

took a borrowed (inside) cat to solve the problem

didn't see if the mice were deceased, bud didn't see them again either

my cats are indoors, but I would like to make them an outside run
