Printing Off Entire EBooks
#11
it is, indeed, a good idea to save it [and others of same] to a stable offline media. CD is a good choice but so many computers are no longer putting CD players in computers. there's always the 'cloud' storage, but i don't really trust that i'll always be able to access that, either. JMHO

It is on Amazon used for $12 and new it is $32. You got a good deal with the E Book. I have a lot of Ebooks and only print the templates if they are too big to trace on the screen. To save 50% of ink when printing use EconFont.

I too like hard copy but I am gradually trying to use less paper.
I print the pattern or a portion of the pattern only if I am making it. I have oodles of patterns waiting to be made, stored electronically. It would be a huge waste of storage, money, paper, ink and time to print patterns that never get used.

I bought a 300 page quilting ebook today. The price was too good, $5, and the patterns looked enticing! I would love to print it, so I can thumb through it. It has applique templates for some of the patterns too.
Does anyone print off entire ebooks? I'm guessing that would use a lot of ink?

I save my down loadables to an external hard drive. But, You can also save patterns to a memory card. My Kindle does accept memory cards.
As for the printing, it is expensive and takes up space. I try (operative word being try) to print the template part of the pattern as I want to make the pattern. I use less paper and ink that way.
I sometimes will buy some craft/quilt books from Amazon when they are a steller deal for my Kindle. If I really like the book, I will wait until I can get a second hand copy of it at a good deal. Sometimes, it saves me from buying a hard copy book that really doesn't meat my needs and just takes up space.
Although, Annie's pattern books are usually exclusive and some are out of print. So, it is the only place you can buy them. I have a few. It's not the same as holding a book though.
