I do get an email regarding private messages. I believe you have to set it in your account or profile settings.

I always get an email letting me know that I have a private message along with an email letting me know any new post to a thread that I posted to as well. I think it is somewhere when you set up your account; not sure. I always get one of each.

I get an email notification, but it's because I chose the option in my set ups to receive those.

I get all the notices for my messages. I just put a check in the box by my profile, give it a try.

I get the email. It's in your My Profile settings. Just scroll down the profile page and make sure the box for getting the email notice is checked.
