Dya, are you the baby in your avatar photo? My maternal ancestors are from Holland -- name has been Americanized to Van der Pool

Dya - I have to tell you, I sat and drooled over this picture for 10 minutes. It just brought back some nice memories of our travels to Amsterdam. An unusual dish we enjoyed was mustard soup. Who woulda' thot? Das gut!

Welcome from Georgia! As a very young child and growing up in New York, my best friend was Ria (real name Henriette) and she was from Holland. Her mother Hans who is now 95 years old would make us tea every afternoon, always with a little butter cake or other Dutch treat. She is also the woman who taught me to sew doll clothes. When Ria's grandparents Oma and Opa from the Netherlands would visit they would always bring us Dutch licorice, chocolate, Hopjes and other goodies. You've brought back some very happy memories :)
