I'm with you on the sandwiching process, my least favorite job but also the most rewarding. When you finish the quilt you can say I did it all myself. March forward.

Just think of all the "oh's and ah's" at the shower and then think of the many pictures you will be given with the twins posing on their quilt's that you can show to all your friends. What a wonderful Grandma you will be!

I'm right there with you. I absolutely hate the sandwiching part. I keep hoping the sandwiching fairy will come and do it for me, but it never happens. Eventually I just suck it up and do it.

Is there someone to help you? Makes sandwiching so much easier.

I, too, hate sandwiching. I love every other step in the quilting process, but dread sandwiching.

I actually schedule a time to do the sandwiching and then do it. The whole time I keep telling myself - you'll be machine quilting very soon.

I am another one who hates basting. For my next one I'm going to try the Elmer's School Glue method.
Can't comment on the binding first because I've never done it.

I'm another who hates the sandwiching. If spray baste hadn't been invented I probably wouldn't be quilting... Nah, that wouldn't happen but I certainly would have found a longarmer to sandwich it for me.

I meant to say sandwiching and basting. Looks like I'm not alone.

I enjoy layering! Probably because I don't stress over stretching or scrunching to make layers tight.
I spray on the back at one end and lay on the batting a foot or so and work my way up, then do the same with the top. PATTING is the secret for me to get any ripples out! Just pat gently all over the surface. I do this on any quilt from baby to kind size.

Susie, I would not recommend that. In fact, the opposite. I had a friend try it, and she said it was a huge mess. The glue sticks to the batting in an unforgiving way (hard to reposition fabric). Spray basting is my recommendation .
