Just as he walked into my life and heart..
now he's gone. He wasn't there on the front porch yesterday. He didn't show up last night and this morning no kitty. I'm sad. I have no idea where he's gone to now. I was leaning toward Onyx or Chester. We had a black cat when w first got married. Horrible Cat. His name was Oliver. He would bring in birds through the pet door and take them down the hall by the kids room and feast leaving feathers all through the house. He'd do this while we were away at work. I always wondered if the the bird was still alive when he'd bring it in the house. As I said he was horrible but he filled a place in our hearts. We must be a sick family

I'm so sorry. It's so easy to get attached quickly, and so hard when they leave us, no matter how long or short their time with us. You are not a sick family. Oliver was just doing what cats have done for centuries to survive. Even though you fed him well, it was still in his genetic make-up to chase. This kitty may still come back. He's used to being on his own, and may still return. Or maybe you need to find one who needs a new home for you to love.

I'd like to give him a neat name but I'm having a difficult time coming up with something cool that my husband will actually use.
What would you call a cat that came to you in October? Names like Midnight, Ebony etc depict his color. Not sure that is what I really want. Our dog's name is Lexie but she was named by my youngest son. He had a little girl in is class named Lexie. Not too imaginative. Help me come up with something. I'm already tired of Darn cat
My daughter's suggestions are, Spooky, Halloween, October, or Snowball, Pumpkin, Candycorn, Casper.

How about boo-boo? I had a cat named Miss Kitty, so how about Mr. Cat? Oh, sorry to hear that he is gone...

My first black cat was named Mud Turtle, I didn't name her, my mom did.
