I mostly quilt alone. I do take classes with a friend and enjoy getting out and being with a group of people...not really friends. I enjoy seeing what other people come up with. I have a couple of quilting friends who I call on when I want another opinion or advice. I really enjoy seeing all the creativity on here....but it makes me want to make it all...and unfortunately I don't have the time or money to make it all.

I started my own group and have a few ladies now,one of them I found on here. So if you are willing to do a little leg work you may be surprised at what you find;) I have a 3yr old son and so just about all the guilds or outside of the home groups do not allow children.

Since I'm new to quilting, I am in a group of wonderfully talented and patient women. We meet Thursdays. I do some quilting at home but really prefer the fellowship and helpful tips from "the girls". Any other "newbies" out there????

I quilt alone.

Now I feel better, because some of you also quilt alone. I would love to have someone or others to quilt with, share ideas or small talk with. I think it is hard when you work and only have weekends or evenings free.

I prefer to quilt by myself. It is my alone time. Quilting keeps me sane and I like to get lost it what I am doing and just let my thoughts drift. My sewing room is off limits to everyone, it is my own personal space. Sometimes I let a dog or a cat in but they just lay down and sleep so they are no bother.
