Quilting Styles
#16
I tend to use patterns as a guide, as the only time I followed a pattern to the letter it turned out to be a disaster. Sometimes I make up my own patterns and that is a lot of fun. I keep it simple and stress free. (Quilt making should be fun.)

I am intrigued at the many ways people go about making their projects.
Some will follow a pattern exactly.
Some will sort of follow a pattern.
Some will totally ignore the pattern instructions.
Some have every stitch planned before starting and have everything in place before making the first cut of fabric.
Some create as they go. They really don't have any idea how something will end up when they start. They are willing to improvise or substitute along the way.
Some start with a plan but modify it as they go.
I think I'm mostly in the "Create as I go" category.
How about you?
