I don't remember when our last substansial rainfall was, know it has been a really long time. Last summer was hot and dry also. We have a 45 year or older mighty oak tree that is dying. All my bushes are dried up, they were last year also, look for all of them to be finished off this year. I think it would take several weeks or a month of low steady rain to do any good here. St, Louis has had more rain than we have. We are about 30 miles South of St.Louis. I am starting to worry about the wildlife around here not having water to drink. I have a birdbath and the birds just flock to it.

The forecast for our area at 10P.M. last night was for rain after mid-night, some areas up to 3" and a high of 85 drgrees We had no rain and it`s 92 degrees, But there is always to morrow. Every thing but the lawn still has some green in it, and it`s no where near 1988, so we can wait a little longer. We have a wedding Friday and hubby is suppose to take the bride & groom for a ride in our open buggy & horse. I water my garden a little so that`t O.K. for now.

We finally had some rain in the early hours of Thursday morning. Not a puddle in sight but the ground is moist. This is the first rain we have had since May outsides of Knob Noster. Some places have had spinkles but not us. YEA and it has cooled off. Back to the 100's by Sunday. At least a couple of cooler days (only 90's)
