Well of course I have enough washcloths because
I use them to for making hanging towels with.

Well while "digging" that box out I created a
rather large mess in the sewing room, so that
means I have to clean it again to get to the machine.

Now the reason for this post.

    Does anyone do hand quilting?
I have some hand quilting thread that I would
    like to get rid of.

There MIGHT be other posts like this as
I progress through the cleaning, so be on

Debbie, your heart must be so heavy right now. I only hope that with the passage of time you will find some solace in the happy memories you shared with her. I will keep her soul covered in prayer. After grace before meals, we pray for the souls of the faithful departed, so she will be remembered three times a day in our home.
Yes, you do have friends here and I am sure she had many friends in Nashville. I hope that all the fellowship that surrounds you will help.

I'm there with you on that.
It takes the act of congress to get me to sew a button on.

I prefer to hand quilt, For some reason I like the looks better, it reminds me of my great aunt and it is relaxing to do.

i am gonna have to take your word on that. even during my clothes making days, i bought a blind hemmer to hem my garments with. i am not sure i even know how to hand quilt and if that was the only way, i would not be quilting.

to me hand quilting and relaxing somehow just doesnt seem to belong in the same sentence .

I used to sew the buttons on by machine but I could hand sew them on faster than setting up the machine to do it! And by machine if a thread is loose and someone pulls on it the button will fall of.

I love scraps but nothing less than 2" wide. I will reimburse postage, if you decide to send any to me.
    Thank you for the offer.

i use my sewing machine with my zig zag foot or my open toe feet to sew my buttons on. i have a special foot with rubber stoppers that is for sewing on buttons but i rarely use it. you will need to drop the feed dogs or whatever control your machine has on it for sewing on buttons. it's a breeze for me and i emphatize me because others may have a differnt opinon.

now i am READY FOR SOME FOOTBALLLLL!!!!!! i am working on my super bowl mystery quilt just until it's time to go to my super bowl party. here is the thread in case anyone wants to join in. http://www.quiltingboard.com/main-f1...t-t175584.html

More questions about what you do.

    1) Do you cross stitch?

2a) Do you like to do a LOT of applique (that involves cutting small pieces
and/or in tight corners)? What kind of scissors do you use?
2b) If you applique do you do fusible or raw edge turn (or both)?
2c) What kind of scissors do you use?

    3) Do you like "blocks" that are not finished? (size 12-1/2" I think)?

    4) Do you like BOM patterns that are "missing" a one or two of the
    months (like the Joanns BOM's)?

    5) Have you seen those magnifying glasses that clamps to the machine?
    (click on this
LINKif you need a better description). I bought one of
these when I saw it on clearance, but it didn't fit my machine and I
    could not return it.

In a previous post I mentioned hand quilting; the thread I had has been
    spoken for already.

I am ALMOST finished with "cleaning" my sewing room, and have added
MANY things to my bins for RAK goodies. In fact I now have 2 bins that
    are 24qt size FULL.

Well that is about it for the moment, if I have anymore question I will
come back to ask. Maybe I will get pictures of my "clean" sewing room
    and post them for you.
