K- I already did that, soon as I left the interview I finished
writing up a thank you note to Johnny & Trish and told them
that I felt that my being nervous had a big impact on my "speed"
for the assessment.
Dropped the cards in the mail box on my way home.
But out of OVER 100 people to apply for the job, ALL had been
rejected for for even getting to the in person interview step, so
I feel that was a step ahead for me.
We shall see.

I am back from my Bahamas trip that my mom offered to me, we had a lovely time after we had fought the cruise line about the cracker box they gave us to sleep in, and ready to do some more quilting labels for those who PM me. I have sent out 15 quilting labels this far and would love to make those who need them. Right now that's all I have to offer until I get my SSD started and that's in the hands of the lawyers right now, so money is tight. I do have some small scraps that I don't think I will every use if anyone wants them. I do have a GoBaby to cut them into 2 1/2 " Squares if you are interested in them as well pm me and let me see what I can come up with...

i just got the update for my sil and well it wasnt the best. i am so saddened right now but will be in prayer shortly for her, my brother and their family. it feels like my blood pressure just shot way up. my sil's ovarian cancer has spread to her liver, stomach lining and small bowel so much so that the docs said if they could they would remove the entire lower bowel. this cancer is also a rare strand of aggressive cancer.
my sil is just 40 years old, an only child whose mother passed away 2 yrs ago. i just want to go hold her in my arms and tell her it will be okay and that she will make it through to the end to victory. while their 10 yo son knows his mom is sick (he's acting out some now) the 5 yo twins (turned 5 on may 9th) have no idea how sick their mom is. my sil has a battle ahead of her with chemo and surgeries staring her down but in my heart i believe the higher the mountain to climb the sweeter the victory to proclaim and the greater the testimony to give of our lord's tender mercy. i just pray that i can plant this into my sil.

Oh how I wish I was close so I could offer to help you with
all the household chores and kid sitting.
If this wasn't such a sad time I would offer (jokingly of course)
to send some industrial strength velco to help with kid sitting,
but seeing as this IS a sad time I will just offer my dearest thoughts
for all to go well.

Hey!!!!!!!!! you sound just like ME.
My best friend of 32 years had a 6 year old daughter
when my family moved 2 doors down from her and
her family. Come spring break she needed a sitter for
her daughter and asked me if I would do it.
I told her yes being a sitter would be great that Penny
and I would have fun that week IF she was good, if not
she would be spending lots of time on the "time-out" stair
with NO toys or anything to play with.
Her mother liked me instantly because she KNEW right
then I was not going to be a push over even though I was
only 15 yrs old. Penny was the kind of child that could make
the sanest of people want to drink, calling her a "problem"
child would have been much to nice about it.
From that day until they moved away to Michigan I was their
ONLY babysitter for Penny, if I couldn't do it she would have
a major melt down and crying jag.
I was ALWAYS a firm, but fun baby sitter and all the kids liked it
when I was in "charge" because I made it fun for them, but they
also knew NOT to push me to far or I would not be the fun likable
sitter anymore.
It has been so long since I have had any dealings with young kids
that I don't know if my patience to do it would last long.

oh louise i am not a sad sally kinda person. this is just life and one deals with it. and YES i could use the velcro. my brother's children need some exercises in listening. i'm gonna have to work with them on that next time they come stay with me. because i am not one who likes to keep telling children to stop doing what i told them to stop doing 5 minutes ago and 5 minutes before that. i am the time out - go take a nap - stop all that crying kinda auntie after i told you twice to stop it. yep send me all the velcro you can.
