It has been almost a year since we lost our "friend", Jerry, and I still tear up when I think about him. He fought so hard to live as long as he did and I want another dog so much, but am afraid to go that route again.

It is very hard to lose a loved animal but having another will help you heal...I really believe this. I also believe if your lost friend could talk to you they wouldn't want you to be alone..

My rescues from Roswell, NM are with me because I had lost my friend...I was too lonely without a dog and Sandy talked to me till I came and got her... along with her baby and the JR mix...this was 2 yrs ago and they are so good for me and my family..I needed them as much as they needed us..

My husband and I swore that we would NEVER, EVER, AGAIN get another dog on our way to have our Kuvacz put to sleep.
I held Zeke as the vet injected, and knew I could never go through that again. Well, so much for that. 6 weeks later we
became owned by Woody (avitar) and it was the best thing we ever did (besides our 3 girls!). I absolutely dread the day he breathes his last, but you can't live just thinking about the end.
I know that one day, I'll be reunited with all the furbabies that have gone on before. Afterall, God spelled backwards is Dog!

I knew the ending(of the book) was going to be sad, and my husband asked me why I was going to read it then. Because. We've been through it and will go through it again. Because we love.
