Any of you ladies and gents been quilting long enough to remember the quilt boards on Compuser and MSN? Anyone here remember those swaps and exchanges? I made some great friends there but can't for the life of me remember what happened to these boards. Did they just quilt off into the sunset? Are they precursors to our own great board?

I forgot all about Compuserve until you mentioned it. I think that was our first one. I didn't know about any groups then though.
Glad I found this one :D

Dixie, When MSN closed down the boards the quilt groups went in multiple directions. Some went to Yuku, phpBB, Multiply and Yahoo! I have a few bookmarked if you want them. Don't know if they are still active or not....

No, thank you, I'm happy enough here. Just wondering if anybody else was a "dinosaur" like me and remembered them.

Yeah, but you're in a very select group including me! Dinosaurs have a great wealth of information at their fingertips. They know about templates and how to make them, they know how to use a cutting board without lines, they know how to cut patches with scissors, they know about calico! We're very exclusive. Don't you want to be a dinosaur?

I was on Genie Online Quilting Guild back in the early 90s. Have some great blocks that were swapped and beautiful birthday and secret pal gifts. I often thing of that wonderful group of women. They were such a blessing when my Dad died suddenly in 1993.

I was on MSN for a few years til they closed.

There's a couple of quilt groups on YUKU, Groupbox, Yahoo, Connecting Threads, and Multiply that I know off.

But this is my favorite group out of the other bunches.
