Some of the topics do come up again and again -

But to someone that is new to quilting - or to whatever is unfamiliar - the question/discussion is new to him/her.

Or for those that have more experience - we may come up with an "aha!" moment - either with something to share - or "the lightbulb finally lights up!" moment.

I agree. We get great reminders of something we have have forgotten. I learn so much here.
Not to mention valuable info for new quilters. I wish this board was around when I started.

​I took a beginners class at another guild, and was asked by a friend why I was doing that. Simple, you can always learn something new/different. That's why the quiltboard members are so Great.

I have found that sometimes a topic has not interested me (or I felt applied to me), but later on it does. This can be due to changed interests, new skills or a variety of other reasons. So when a topic comes up that has been posted in the past, its worth reading again. Learning and curiosity never gets repetitious :-)

You mean like the wash or don't wash your fabric? Or what sewing machine to get? Haha. I figure, too, that there are always new people needing info so it doesn't bother me. I look at them too in case there's a new tip.

Even so, Bear, if you know (or suspect) that a topic has come up again and again, you can always use the search function to look for it. I needed to look into glue basting, so I searched for it, rather than add yet another thread to the subject. Had I not found what I was looking for, then I would have opened another thread.

If you do need to open a new thread, it also helps others if you are a bit more specific in your thread titles. "How should I quilt my log cabin?" is a lot more informative than "Quilt help needed."

I like to do a search before posting a new thread, too, IceLeopard. I like to do a google search as well, because if you type in your question and end the search with 'quilting board ' the archives from the QB come up in the search too.
