Hi...I am new to this site but I have been enjoying the topics and pictures.

I love quilting and have a quilt up almost all the time. I have a hanging quilt frame in my living room. I live in Rising Star, Texas and belong to the Pioneer Quilt Club. I have three children and seventeen grandchildren.

Hi, Glad you've joined the Board, I am quite new too, I am from Great Britain, living in central southern England, isn't great to be able to 'meet' across the world.
What is a hanging quilt frame please?

It is a large quilt frame that is suspended from the ceiling by ropes on hooks. You sew the quilt backing to the frames and lay the batting and the top on that and pin them securely. Then you can raise the frame up when you are not quilting and lower it to quilt. This is for hand quilting as I am sure you figured out.

I always think of my grandmother when someone talks about a hanging quilt frame...she had one in the bedroom and had a quilt on it most of the time...it always brings back good memories.
