My husband had a work shift that was 2 12 hr days, then 2 12 hour nights. For years!! Luckily, I met him 2 years before he retired, and it wasn't so hard on us. We retired, married, and moved here in the same 3 month period. I LOVE it!!! We can go camping when we want, do what we want, eat what/when we want.........or do NOTHING! I had a stressful job, too, and I agree, stress DOES damage you!

I'm not retired but I am a stay at home mom. I am on disability for severe depression and social anxiety. It got so bad I had to quit working for the state of Az after 18 years. I am enjoying being at home but wish I could find a way to support myself at least a little bit.....

I have been semi-retired for a couple of years, working 3-1/2 days a week, so I have Friday afternoons and all day Monday off. Have told my boss that I've decided to retire entirely at the end of August, giving me time to finish up the inventory project I have going and get us through the back-to-school crunch. One of our biggest customers is the local ISD. Of course training a newbie in the midst of it may be a bit of a challenge...
