Reunion Auction dilemma
#23
It sounds like your family is a lot like mine. Just regift something you forgot to return or a yard sale item you pick up on the way. I know its wrong to feel that way. But don't let it bug you. Been there and done that. Its okay, just sit back and smile when they start bidding.

My mother is still pitching a b---- because a table runner *I* made went for 3 bucks at the silent auction. <sigh> I look at it this way, one of my relatives gets to have some of my work that she totally loves and could not other wise afford to buy. I sell my table runners for 30 to 50 bucks depending on size, fabric etc. There is just no way one of my cousins with 5 kids could afford to spend that kind of money on something like a table runner. But she can talk everybody at the auction into not bidding against her. LOL
What happens to something after I give it away or donate it doesn't really concern me.

I have had the same thing happen with our family reunion. I made a cute cute mother and daughter apron set - sold for next to nothing. Most everyone else does white elephant, so if that's how it is at yours, I'd just do white elaphant from now on, or something very quick and simple, like potholders made from scraps.
