Default Roanoke area

My son is moving to Roanoke for his job. Could anyone from that area offer some advice on areas to live/not live since we need help with his apartment search. Thanks for any help!

I live quite close to Roanoke VA, but know nothing about apartment rentals. I'd suggest you have him spend time on internet sites that talk about rentals in Roanoke; just google. Many apartment complexes have reviews by residents that may be very helpful. Also Human Resources at his new company should be able to make suggestions.

also have him use google maps and do a "street view walk" of any area he thinks he might be interested in living--hae him look for things like lots of trash, boarded up windows, cars that are abandoned, lots of homeless, lots of people just "hanging" on the streets, etc. My daughter does this with all hotel reservations too.
