About 20 years ago on Christmas day, without prior notification, Florida Power & Light in South Florida decided to do a three hour rolling blackout because of unusually cold weather. Can you imagine the Christmas dinners that were ruined because the power company did not expect cold weather in December?
That is not comparable to what you are suffering now, but at least you have some warning. And with cold, you can pile on more clothes and cuddle under quilts. With heat, ???

With short rolling blackouts the temperature in an average home will only change one or two degrees if that much. I think most of us are practicing old Southern climate control - blinds and drapery drawn, no sunshine getting in the windows to heat up the house.
