Unless you have pre-programmed stitches, it would be a zigzag adjusted to a very small stitch length.

Satin stitch is just a zigzag, adjusted to be tight and as wide as you want it to be

Check page 32 of your manual. I have the same machine and that page header says ZigZag--under that there is a small section regarding the satin stitch.

I have a 440 QE. I just use the regular zig zag stitch 2. For appliqué I generally use stitch length .5 and stitch width 4. For a very close satin stitch, I use a length of .3. You can take the stitch width to 5.5, but that is wide to go around curves or corners.

Is there a page for zig zag? That will probably be where it is. But it's basically just a zigzag made to the width and length that you want.

This blog has a sample of stitches printed out for that machine, have a look at it and maybe it will help? http://thecraftyquilter.com/2013/03/...plique-stitch/

Actually just read her whole posting and it is very clear on machine appliqué instructions as well.
