That diet sounds like the one my friend was on to lose 70 lbs. I can't imagine never having another cookie or piece of cake or candy for the rest of my life. Or brownies!! Pizza? Even a baked potato. That is one strict diet. And to live like that for the rest of your life. I do like the idea of having new goals every 2 weeks. I could maybe follow the diet for 2 weeks. And maybe then another 2 weeks would be doable. I don't know. Maybe not.
We are on our way out to eat. I have been pretty good today. We'll see how dinner goes. This place is known for their steaks and fish fry not salads.

We went out to dinner last night to Longhorn steak house. It was delicious. I did pretty well. I ordered the salmon. I had them replace the rice pilaf with steamed broccoli and had a baked sweet potato. I probably overdid it a little bit on the bread. The broccoli was boring so I put some lemon juice and a pinch of salt on it.
I have a white chocolate cheesecake in the oven. I am going to top it with raspberries. We are going to a pig roast tomorrow. Hopefully they will eat all of it. I plan on making a WW salad if I can find the recipe. It has been a while since I have made it. It has broccoli and cauliflower in it.

CindyA...how do you feel about apple butter?? I have a recipe that has had very good "reviews" over the years. I'm going to the farmer's market next Saturday and check out their apples.
YUM Pat....that pig roast sounds like fun. I'm going to pretend i missed the part about white chocolate cheesecake!
Need to get a couple of cooking pumpkins to bake and freeze to make pumpkin pies over the holidays. As soon as i see the pumpkins outside the grocery store i start to CRAVE pumpkin pie. I'll have to double check my recipe to figure out the points --- but last year i experimented with low fat (2%) evaporated milk in the recipe and it worked just fine. I think they even make "skim milk evaporated milk"....maybe i'll check that out too.
Well..off to work on the DGD quilt - have 3 more rows to sew on and want to get that done before going off to bed.
Hope Everyone has a really great weekend.

Off to the Fair tomorrow....Thought you might like to meet "BIG TEX" (taken of the news report on my TV) - he is 55' tall and wears a 95 gallon hat - the symbol and greeter of the State Fair of Texas.

Greetings from Maine! We only have 1 week left here. Boo Hoo. Fresh fish and or seafood once or twice a day will be missed a lot. Such a beautiful state!! Do we have a color for October's fat quarter? I have passed a few quilt shops and would like to get it taken care of while I am still in an area where we know our way around (kind of). Enjoy this best season of all, everyone!

PenniF, I like apple butter and my mom LOVES it. So if you want to share your recipe I would love to try it out. Thanks for sharing Big Tex!!

I got the salad when I went out to dinner last night and also added a squash soup. I did not check the nutritional facts on it and it sure tasted rich. It was wonderful, so I'm going to assume that it was high in calories and fat.

Hi Everyone....had a great - if long - day at the Fair. Got to see the quilts - check out the crafts - Oh... and we got to see the Marine Corps band play....That was a real treat as i didn't know they were going to be there. I posted photos of some of the quilts from the quilt show under Pictures "Texas State Fair 2014" if you want to go look. The Best of Show is an amazing piece of work. WOW !!!!
CindyA....i sent you a PM with that recipe.
Didn't misbehave TOO badly....had a hot dog and a funnel cake - and 2 beers....and a lemonade...but walked for about 6 hours so...??? Was tempted by the "fried pumpkin pie"....but resisted.
Hope y'all are having a great weekend.

WOW! Only a few days are left in September. I just posted the October thread. October Weight Loss Challenge. I thought a good theme for October would be Christmas fabric as we all need to get going on our Christmas projects since it is 88 days until Christmas.
Any suggestions for a theme for November and December would be appreciated. What would you like to win? It is less expensive to mail 3 months at a time. Don't forget to PM me your loss on the 30th. Good luck and good eating to everyone.

Penni, I use non-fat evaporated milk, and remember, although a starch, pumpkin is considered a veggie...
and you can use a pie pan, with no crust too..
