    My son was in the Navy and he said he wished there were sleeveless uniforms. So my idea? Make it sleeveless!

    are you using a 3 thread overlock or a 4 thread. Use your seam ripper to cut every third or fourth stitch of the straight seam. Do this on one side (preferably the top) only. You should be able to pull the bottom thread out. Then the overlock stitches will loosen and can be pulled out.

    Must be something in the season... I just finished a dress with much the same problems...
