I tried the steam mop and didn't have any luck with it either. I used whatever water was recommend (can't remember now) and still had very poor results. I sold mine.

What a bummer. I love my Shark products. Maybe u just got a few lemons. I have had the same steam cleaner for a couple of years. I did get a lemon iron it only lasted a month but I returned and got another and it works great and have had it for almost a year. (I don't use anything but tap water)

I have a shark and I have for over a year now. I've never had a problem with it. I think if you get a new one to try only using distilled water in it.

I have a Shark steam mop and love it. I first bought the Oreck and didn't like it, but didn't take it back. Now, I have two of them. I like the Shark a lot.

They have been around forever, too-My Mom had Bissell products and as I recall, they were fine-mind you, back then they make goods to last-not like today! I will look into that one.

Purchased a Shark iron and it lasted only 3 months. Knowing what happened to you, am staying away from that brand forever.
