I went to get into my car and wondered what happened to my dog. Identical cars but this was much cleaner. I looked up and saw my dog in the other car (mine)and I knew he was laughing at the stupid human trick.

I can so see that happening.

It's scary is when the key works in another car. Back when cars had separate keys for door & ignition, my escort key worked in my folk's Mercury. I had grabbed the wrong set of keys and didn't realize it until I couldn't turn the car on.

DH opened somebody else's RV once.

A year or so ago I came out of a store back into the crowded parking lot, tried and tried to open the car door, it was too hard with one arm full of grocery bags. I finally noticed a suitcase in the back seat, and heard a man behind me laughing. I apologized but since both cars were almost identical, both nearly the same year and both a silver/gray Saturn, so he fully understood. .thankfully.

My sister just purchased a new car and decided to stop at MC Donald for lunch. Parked her car and went inside, then looked out the window. There was another car, same color and type parked right next to her. I can see her getting in the wrong one that EZ, buy the time she finished and decided to leave notice the other person getting into his car.
Now they were also the same color. Then someone else with same type car also had pulled in but his was a different color. How EZ that would be to take the wrong car.

I usually mark my car with decals most likely another person with same car won't pick. Like I had a gold Jeep and my Dr. also had the very same Jeep, except mine has Betty Boop on it, LOL Just got a new Jeep so I still need to get decals for it. So I better becareful when out and about until I get them.
Everyones story is so darn funny.

I have a 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo. Parked between large pick up and E-van. Came out and not sure where I parked my jeep but remembered the aisle. Other jeeps on both side of mine same color and near same year. Very similar tags. I hit my remote. All 3 open up. Called my DH because I couldn't remember tag number. Other owners come up behind me. We are all looking at each other then we opened the hatches. Mine was the only one that had nothing in the back. The others were filled with kid stuff. Dh reminded me of the saying we came up with so we could remember our plate number and it goes like buy a 6 jeep but with numbers. They all thanked me for unlocking their cars.

guess this is more common than we realize. i have a gray car. seems the only cars that park near me are gray cars too. have gone up to the wrong car many times. doesn't even need to be the same make or model. i had to put a silly tinkerbell toy in the back window so i can tell mine. think the mfgs need to design some cars that don't all look the same? you used to be able to tell the difference between makes of cars.
