Try making a game of it. Challenge your friend to see how long she can go without one too?

I sympathize for you in your situation. I, too, was a smoker for 40 years and last Sept. came down with terrible bronchitis, so bad that I lost my voice. I decided to cut down or quit smoking to try to get my voice back. Well, I never started again as I started thinking about at some point having any surgery that coughing could cause more pain, just the stress and cost of smoking, knowing I should not do it and being able to breathe and sleep much better. I still have allergies but not nearly as bad as before. Just keep thinking that you are 10 steps ahead of everyone who has not quit and that you are in the majority now. I know, you still want one occasionally, but you need to ask youself, do you want to live the rest of your life not being able to breathe?
