well i found this post Odorless commercial starch?

I just gave up and put my table cloth out in my c
ar for charity. my son has the sensitive nose and i'm surprised this bothered me so much. four cans of this Faultless or what ever it's called I must get rid of now.
Ok, I found some Best Press and ordered that. Usually I don't smell anything my son does, but this was very evident. So onward and upward I go to iron another day!

Why didn't you wash it? Starch washes out.

That's what I would have done.

Oh I know, but I'd pressed it and found it needed to be starched too. So washing it would put me back to it needing pressing only to find still looks bad. One of those, can't win for losing.

I make my starch using liquid starch, water and vodka. Some people use water and cornstarch. There are recipes on the web.

I use Sta Flo in a squirt bottle. To me it doesn't have a smell. I find it in 2-quart bottles at Walmart.

did you order the oderless best press. I was gifted a bottle and it ran me out of the house. Pitched it.
I use a ton of starch so buy the big Sta-flo and mix it 50/50 in my spritzer bottle. No scent.

2 parts water and 1 part vodka works to add body to fabric and takes out deep wrinkles. I keep a mister of it on my ironing table. Also I use Downy Wrinkle Releaser a lot as a starch. I have on my ironing rack:
Sta Flo
Faultless
Argo powder
Niagara liquid spray
Best Press
Acorn
Flatter
Terial Magic spray
Premium and non premium Magic Crafter's Spray
Magic Sizing
Several discontinued bottles of Bounce ironing spray

I can compare all of them anytime. Terial is the best for stiffness. Any of the fabric sprays do the same job, the starches do a
good job of starching.

I'd wash it and either press it myself with just water, or take it to the cleaners for pressing. Seems like a waste to get rid of something that simply needs washing....
