I am just outside Greensboro, NC and just got done shoveling the walk/driveway. Looks like we probably got around 6"-8" total. Power went out around 6:20 AM this morning but thankfully came on while we were shoveling. After living through these power outages year after year, when we bought our current house 5 years ago, we installed an auto-on natural gas generator. It comes on by itself about 15-20 seconds after the power goes off. I. LOVE. IT. It was costly but I would do without other things to have it. Hope everyone is safe and warm inside.

It is noon here in Gastonia, NC. It has been slowly snowing since about 6 pm last evening. Has stopped for now but we got a good coating of a few inches on the ground. Our roadway has yet to have snow to stick. This is the first time it has snowed on Christmas since 1947 in the Charlotte area.
Ruth, I figured you would get some of the white stuff.

We had some flurries on Christmas day then it stopped. My son had called and said he had to go to work he drives a dump trk and you know what that means Plowing. But it hasn't really snowed like they are calling for yet. It started snowing again today and I think it's going to keep snowing for awhile.

Today we are to get close to 2 ft of snow with 50-60 mile an hour winds. They call it a nor'easter here. We will have blizzard conditions. My dog hates it so she tries to pee next to the door. I have to pull her out to the yard. We dig a path through the snow for her.

My best friend lives in Wilmington NC and she called to tell me that it was snowing. Being as I live in Ohio I couldn't get as excited as she was, but it was fun listening to her describe it.

My DD and SIL went to his mother's in Cullowhee NC today. The had snow from middle GA up. They had to hike to his mother's house from quite a ways due to the ice. The funny thing is she is snowed in at another brother's there. they do love the snow.
