Every year, a new toothbrush! When she was a child I kept my eye out all year long for a fun, silly one...still, if I see one that's silly, I get it...

flash drives have gotten very inexpensive now and they are the handiest thing to keep in your pocket, those little wooden brain teasers (like they put on the tables at restaraunts) my grandson LOVES those, my son likes Chinese food so I bought him chopsticks

Car wash tickets are nice too. Someof the places where they do hand washing ans waxing sell tickets here. Packets of microwave popcorn, pens & pencils, stamps if they live out of town,

I have always given a new toothbrush and their favorite toothpaste. Hard tack candy ,white out , new pens, pencils, socks are always a plus. Give cards for gas. Even 5 dollars help out. One pass to wash their clothes.Make their favorite dinner or dessert. I love to give good books on our American Consitution. Girls like crazy nail polish, socks, hair clips ,pony tail ties Some pretty earring. Both like gum or a first aide kit made up of bandaides and triple antibotic cream . hope these ideas help Merry Christmas

I would love the soup recipe also. DS made a lifestyle change to vegitarianism this year so I'm always on the lookout for new, easy recipes for him. Thanks so much for all the great ideas for the stockings. I had a terrible time last year and didn't do stockings. Both DH and DS remarked that Santa had 'skipped' our house. Who would have thought? Not this year, lol. What would I do without the Quilting Board. Blessings to all.

Cream of Potato Soup 6 servings

1 c non fat dry milk powder
    1 c instant mashed potatoes
1 & 1/2 tbsp instant chicken boullion powder
1 tbsp dried onion flakes or onion powder
    1/2 tsp salt
    1/4 tsp pepper

In a bowl mix everything together. Put into a bag or jar with directions to make the soup.

    Soup directions.

    1 cup water
    1/3 c soup mix

Boil water or microwave for 3 minutes. Add mix, stir let sit a minute stir again.

    Add ins:
    1)Corn for corn chowder
2)small single serving can tuna.......tastes like New England Fish Chowder
    3)small can chicken............creamy chicken soup
    4) grated cheddar cheese

Sometimes I add a tsp of bacon bits I think they have the non fridge kind that are fake but it will add the smoky flavor.

I actually made a batch up before I wrote this. I don't know if they have any recipes on line for this as I made up the recipe myself. I like it on a cold winter day as a snack to warm me up.

My daughter said she is getting her daughter a thermos.if you listen you'd be surprised what they want. One granddaughter wants popcorn and years ago a grandson wanted boxes of certain breakfast they couldn't find it in Wichita I remember laughing when he requested that.
