Just posted an address to send giveaway quilt to, and all that. Made sure not to use presonal names etc. WHY!!!!

When we first got our computer (later than most) we were still living in FL. Opened up the morning paper, and saw a terrible article about a woman being shot in the face when she opened the front door! HORRID!

Guess what? You bet, it was someone she had met online. Seemed perfectly normal etc. She gave her name and address to be sent a box. Person delivered ok, and it was not a box ...

OK, I realize this is over the top in horrible. But snce that time, I simply have chosen to use only my first name.

Keeping chatting and posting.

many board members do not even use their first names- only a made up screen name. it is always best to be careful- (without being overly parinoid) always know who you are giving any personal information to.

That's one of the many reasons I have a PO box and only use that when I order stuff.

Since getting our dane (1.5 140 lbs), even the witnesses going around now avoid our house, he lets me know if someone even steps on the stairs in front of our house and so many people turn and walk away when they hear that bark. Its funny bc our neighbor a few houses down has 3 danes and says they have the same problem, no one ever comes to the door unexpected.

I won't use my real name. As a widow of 2 1/2 years, I just have to be more careful than I was before.

anyone can be the victim of random violence, online or off line. It is not something I choose to worry about.
